RE: Homestead Life: What We Would Do Differently with 100K at the Onset
Ahhhh it was this that really got me, and something I've really been thinking about! So glad you put it this way
Move into the place first. Spend a full 4 seasons there. Let the land talk to you. Let your dreams mingle with your place, its people, wildlife, energetics and the specific piece of land you’re on.
Part of our dream is reconnecting with nature in ways that are only novel to us now. We are first looking in areas to settle, but even that's challenging as we aren't 100% sure on our goals. We know off grid is important to us, and community. Being somewhere that resonates with us also is. I keep thinking this is the place we are picking to hopefully spend the rest of our lives, and it's tough not to feel a little pressure. There's weight in that decision.
I love that you guys lived in a yurt for a couple years. That must have been a serious challenge and I'm amazed you guys had the fortitude to keep working when that in and of itself had to have been so much work.
Thanks for joining in the challenge! I'll be posting the winners soon!
