To @wakeupkitty, who is always purring, for keeping me on the path of art. For the messages in bottles. For counting pelicans at odd hours.

Despite all the hateful daily grind that turns us into little machines doing heavy work, I was able to paint. I enjoyed painting this picture. I felt pleasure while painting. The fatigue waited a long time for me to finish.

image.png

I feel that something has changed in me. I have a greater understanding of many things about painting. Although it is also influenced by the fact that I have been looking at and researching styles, painters, theories, drawing, design, perspective. In short, my own odyssey.

image.png

I think I'm ready for another level. A small step on a hateful staircase. It's all about effort and dedication. How could perfection in art be achieved without effort?

image.png

I started using other materials. I used 300G paper for watercolors. I have to adapt to its properties again. Acrylic dries instantly. So, taking this into account, you can do interesting things.
I used five brushes. The smallest was number 1. I'm growing fond of some brushes. I also used some acrylic markers for specific details. I used vermilion, yellow, orange, turquoise, white, and black.

I hope you like this painting. Comments are welcome.
It will be fun to see green kittens purring.

For what did you use the markers? The eyes? How does it feel, easier? Faster? Can you see the difference between paint and marker?

With me it doesn't dry fast I always use a lot of water 🤣

Let's talk about the ears this time. They should be a bit lower. Look at the line the upper and bottom part (nose)/of the average ear are to find the position. Ears or not, altogether I like the result very much. The hair is like flames and the background great.

@cryptopie come have a look

Ok. I will keep that suggestion in mind. I'm experimenting with a lot of things at once. I kept testing the sketches. I discovered something interesting. By watching some videos on drawing anatomy. I'm glad you liked it. I could always paint like Vincent Van Gogh.

And if Vincent doesn't work there's Karel Appel or Mondriaan 😁

I said that because we always have the option of cropping the ears. Or adding all the available hair. I hope that in a year, you can compare this portrait with another one and be surprised.

I am already surprised and a bit more hair and one earring do the trick 🤣🍀♥️

It look wonderful because the face has a character like it is tired and want to rest like me all the time Miss @wakeupkitty. 😑 Good job for Mr. almaguer for this one, truly worth a lot as another beautiful art piece.

You can try something like this or Mondriaan, Kubism, plenty of options to try out the materials. Trust me you learn always something.

🍀♥️

Thank you for your nice suggestions Miss @wakeupkitty I might give them a try. I am still tied to this one that I don't know how to finish. I realized that I am truly handicapped because I can't even sit for a while doing this new found hobby because my right side of the back would act-up to torture me and removes the fun in painting.

Enjoy you weekend now, God bless you. 🌹🌹🌹🧡🧡🧡

If you learn how to paint with a sponge or other items you can have big results in a short time. First try to mix colours and just dot or make stripes to losen up. Who know there's a way you can paint while you lay down. For sure there's a solution for everything. Don't give up too easily and focus on the paint, make ugly art. You will see that's not easy either.

Have a look here: https://steemit.com/art/@quotes-haven/my-second-painting

Keep in mind friend we all have our ups and downs, and some (artistic days or weeks) suck and the only thing we can do is painting canvas and paper black or red (no problem as long as you paint).

Enjoy your weekend dear friend, I send you a hug.

I don't know, if you know, I started painting just a couple of months ago. I started with colored pencils, then tried acrylics and fell in love. Each new painting is a lesson. A discovery. A reunion with my inner self that doesn't force (as is the case) us to create and become better people through art. It can be therapy. Any manifestation of art is peace, it's love. So let's paint. Fill life with color. @wakeupkitty.

Based on your quality of work, you have the gift and I admire you for it and wish more success so you can better utilize your products through paintings. More power to you my friend.

Hermoso trabajo amigo.

What do they look like to you as pores that occur in the paper? Do they disturb or give it a special touch. I like them in some places. Although I could fix them with another simple coat of paint. What do you think about the intensity of the colors? Should I tone them down? Can I keep those vivid colors?
