This winery stands out among other wineries in Niagara because of the exceptional experience it gives in its visiting. It is because, in the midst of the contemporary setting of winemaking, this winery features the original building of the Niagara’s United Empire loyalist’s predecessors. Also, the winemaking techniques are ultra-modern, and so the winery is the fusion of the old and the new. Thus, the visitors get the opportunity to sightsee and speculate the new world of winemaking in a historic setting that has strong roots in its cherished past.
Therefore the winery management invites the visitors from all sides, either local or foreign to make a promised visit to the winery throughout they can get enlightened with the illuminating history of the winery. So, if your tour ranges from wine tasting, having a picnic, initiating the winery tour or dining in the outdoor patio café, the winery management offers you the best hospitality so that you enter as a guest and leave the place with homely feelings.
So, the tasting room, that ardently welcomes those guests that do not make a reservation for a tasting of wine is open daily from 10 am to 5pm. On the occasion of Victoria Day’s weekend and Canadian Thanksgiving Day, the winery closes one hour late that is at 6 pm.
Thus the tasting room features the winery’s signature wine cellar bar and shop that displays the signature wines encapsulated by the former foundation of the Henry Pelham Buildings. At this tasting room, you will not only be able to get the opportunity of wine tasting but will see the remarkable collection of wine merchandise and a wide range of quality wines. These quality wines include the old-fashioned ones, the limited edition ones and the unique, special ones.
As far as the winery’s public tours are concerned, they are very entertaining and informative. It is because the visitors, with tour fees of $10 per person can avail the opportunity of tasting four of the Henry Pelham signature wines, an exciting history behind the making and the formation of the winery, the touring of the family cemetery that was the backbone behind the winery, a stroll on the vineyards and most importantly, the visit to the largest underground cellar of the Canada. Keep in mind that the public tours are offered from Victoria’s Weekday to Canada Thanksgiving Day. Therefore, make sure that you make a booking for them in advanced.
