Hello everyone ☀️

Today at noon, I made an appointment with a friend to visit a newly opened Thai house cafe near Chalong, Phuket🇹🇭. This charming spot, designed to please content lovers, offers a unique experience by providing traditional Thai clothing rentals and photo opportunities 📸 Naturally, I discovered this delightful place through social media.

The cafe, named "Ruean Thai Srisuwan", is located at 99, Chalong, in the Mueang Phuket District, Thailand. It's conveniently situated next to the main road and is not far from Wat Chalong (the largest of Phuket island's temples), making it easy to find 🗺️ The cafe's distinctiveness lies in its raised Thai house architecture, setting it apart from other cafes in the area.

This type of architecture, known as "Ruean Thai", is a traditional Thai house style characterized by its elevated wooden structure, steep gabled roofs, and open-air design for ventilation. Historically built on stilts to protect from flooding and heat, these houses also reflect Thai aesthetics, practicality, and spiritual beliefs 🙏🏡

Upon arriving at the strikingly beautiful Thai house 🏡, we were immediately captivated by its charm. As we walked into the cafe, the friendly staff greeted us warmly and informed us about their special service: renting traditional Thai clothing for 400 baht (12.35 USD), which included one drink and a photography session 👘+🥤+📷

Intrigued and excited 🤩, we agreed to rent the traditional Thai clothing. The staff led us upstairs to a dressing room filled with an array of colorful Thai outfits and an abundance of intricate jewelry ✨ The room itself was a feast for the eyes, with vibrant silks and shimmering accessories neatly displayed.

The traditional Thai clothing — usualy made from luxurious silk — available here are inspired by the elegant styles of Thailand’s Rattanakosin era (late 18th century onwards), a time when Bangkok became the capital 👑 The women's costumes often feature a sabai—a graceful shoulder cloth—paired with a long pleated skirt called pha nung, while the men's attire includes jong kraben pants and richly embroidered shirts. These ensembles reflect royal influences and are commonly worn today during traditional weddings, temple ceremonies, and cultural events across Thailand ✨

The jewelry offered for rent is just as detailed — with gold-toned necklaces, bracelets, anklets, and hair accessories that reflect the ornate style of Thai royalty.

My friend and I eagerly began selecting our outfits 🎨 Once we had chosen the perfect ensembles, the staff assisted us in dressing up, carefully adorning us with various traditional accessories. The experience was immersive, making us feel as though we had stepped back in time ⏳ into a more elegant era 💫.

Fully dressed in our beautiful traditional Thai clothing, we felt a sense of cultural pride and excitement. We couldn't wait to sip our drinks and capture the moments in this uniquely charming cafe, Ruean Thai Srisuwan.

The photographer then led us to a photo studio within the Thai house 📸 He guided us through various poses, utilizing the stunning corners and picturesque settings of the house. Each spot was more enchanting than the last ✨ offering a perfect backdrop for our traditional Thai clothing.

I couldn’t resist trying out this beautiful instrument called the khim (ขิม) — a traditional hammered dulcimer often used in Thai classical music 🎶 It has a soft, delicate sound created by striking metal strings with two bamboo mallets. Though it originally came from China, the khim has become a beloved part of Thai musical culture, often played in royal courts and cultural performances. It was such a fun and peaceful moment to sit down and try it myself! 💛

We truly enjoyed the photo session 💖 capturing the beautiful atmosphere of Ruean Thai Srisuwan. The photographer's expertise and the charming surroundings combined to create a series of memorable photos. These pictures not only documented our fun day but also preserved the essence of the elegant Thai culture we had the pleasure of experiencing.

It took us a very long time to take photos and fully capture this happy moment 🕰️😊 Each pose, each corner of the Thai house, and each smile was worth the time and effort. The experience was not just about the photos but about the joy of sharing this unique and memorable experience together.

At Ruean Thai Srisuwan Cafe, we were delighted to find an array of props perfect for taking photos 🎭📸 After our extensive photo session in the studio, we made our way downstairs to the cafe. The staff greeted us warmly and brought out cold drinks, beautifully presented on intricately decorated Thai-style trays 🍹

We settled down to enjoy our refreshments, feeling a deep appreciation for the thoughtfulness and attention to detail that defined every aspect of our visit 🌺 The combination of delicious drinks, elegant presentation, and the captivating ambiance of the Thai house made it truly unforgettable.

Besides drinks, we also ordered papaya salad and pad Thai 🥗🍜 The taste was delicious and perfect, adding to our wonderful experience at Ruean Thai Srisuwan. This unique cafe is not just about wearing traditional Thai clothing and taking photos; it also offers classes in Thai cooking, soap making, and batik 🎨

Most of the students in these classes are foreign tourists eager to learn about Thai culture and cuisine 🌏 The diverse activities make Ruean Thai Srisuwan a rich cultural hub, providing an immersive experience for visitors who want to dive deeper into Thai traditions.
