Congratulations to Us: 2/5 Completed [Corporate Day] for the 15 Finalists on Steemit

A few days ago, I made mention of 15 Nigerian Steemians being finalists at the University of Uyo, where we all started our unending journey in the year 2021. Why then am I saying congratulations when the sign-out day hasn't been reached? If you check, you'll notice I said 2/5, meaning we have 3 more exams to write before we drop our pens. It would be a thing of joy seeing 15 Steemians sign out in awe from the same department.

Let me tell you how my day went. We went through thorns to write these exams, our first CBT exams. In pidgin they'll say, E reach my turn to graduate peacefully; dem come put exams as CBT. Which kind of life is this? How it started.

I'm not a fan of reading at home; that's why I do leave my house for school, where I can read with others. Reading at home when I have an exam the next day isn't a guarantee at all. So I went to @nsijoro's place, where we had a tough night journey. I can remember those days we used to go for night classes in school. But now, we didn't see it fit to go there again because we've grown past that stage or level.

The fear of writing a chemistry course for the first time was our fear. I didn't sleep that night. I was reading throughout, and we stayed in a neighbour's place to read, which increases the possibility of not sleeping. My eyes were damn open despite the fan that blew in that place, which tended to be a hindrance. @nsijoro slept throughout the night, but I won't blame him because his brain is more magnetic than mine, and he had read days before the exams.

That morning, I saw a message that it was a corporate day for finalists with reduced numbers of courses to write and are writing for the first time. **I didn't want to miss this trend; that's why I thought of going back home to get my corporate dress, but on second thought, my house is far away and can't be reached before exams by 8 am. @nsijoro lent me his brother's suit, which I was grateful for.

• Neighbour A lent me a calculator to write the exams and white socks to put on.

• Neighbour B lent me a belt to tie around my waist.

• Neighbour C lent me his pair of shoes.

• Neighbour D lent me his tie.

I felt so loved. Such love is barely seen in other places. So literally everything I wore was borrowed except my underwear. After dressing up, we took a couple of pictures with the neighbour beside us since he was also writing the exams for the first time.

Leaving for the venue in a shuttle bus was what we did, as we were behind time. We arrived there late and still spent money on printing. @nsijoro and I expended #600.

When I got to the exam venue with @nsijoro, you needed to see the way people were looking at both of us as if we came back from the embassy. We were finely dressed with lots of compliments even from the lecturers. Can you imagine? A lecturer wanted to give me a hug after praising me for dressing in such a manner to write the exams.

After writing the exams with beams of smiles on my face, I left for the second paper, which was CBT, our first CBT. Lecturers were fighting for their courses in this CBT hall, as some couldn't stay that long. Those who had to write by 9 am in the morning hadn't even written yet, and it was 12 pm.

Hunger nearly tore my stomach because I didn't eat before leaving the house. I don't know how I managed to think during the exams. I made a purchase of 5alive, goat meat pepper soup and rice. I purchased all these for #3500

I ate to my satisfaction without disturbance. It was after eating that I was able to regain myself. I left with my friends to take pictures. Can you imagine @h-chain was there to ginger and motivate even when we lost interest? I captured a few Steemians in their corporate wear, while a few didn't turn up in it. It was about 5pm, and we still couldn't write. The crowd was crowding. When it was officially time for us to write the exams, you needed to see how we struggled. I nearly tore my clothes in the process of struggling to write the exams.

The exam was a bit difficult, but I conquered it and came out smiling and frowning at the same time. No one put up a smiley face. Expectations were not what we saw. We finished writing by 7pm and then started our journey back home. I took pictures of @emmalex25, @mac-com and @usoro01.
