Real People, Real Use
The use of cryptocurrencies is going to evolve with time.
Over the past several years, we've seen cryptoucurrencies turn into something so much bigger than currency.
It all started with Bitcoin.
Bitcoin is like digital gold -- a scarce, desirable commodity that can be exchanged between people.
But then crypto turned into something totally different. In the past year we've seen crypto turn into a whole revolution in the way we think about technology and applying various forms of technology to current systems.
Smart contracts allow us to do incredible things without any borders.
Steem allows us to interact with each other and not only interact, but also exchange value.
This is something that very few people tend to talk about on Steem.
Yes, I think it's great to focus on the value of the apps of Steem and the social aspect of it all, but a key part at the core of the Steem blockchain is the ability to send STEEM to anyone in any part of the world.
If STEEM didn't exist and I wanted to send money to a friend in Africa, how would I do it?
A wire transfer? Maybe. But that presumes that they have a bank account and easy access to it.
What if you could just send STEEM instantly to them... The world would be a much more abundant place!
Getting STEEM listed on more exchanges and making it easier to convert to local currency is gong to be a key factor in the explosion of the Steem blockchain! We can all work to make that a reality!
