The reality of the present century, with its political, economic, social, cultural and religious convulsions, leads us again to meditate on the global complexity and the prompt fulfillment, both of the prophecy of the rapture of the church and of the immediate appearance of the Antichrist. .

It is for this reason that we will deal with the biblical studies on the prophecies of the last times, emphasizing the "antichrist as a false messiah" that will soon appear on the world stage.

The Scripture reads as follows: "For there shall arise false Christs and false prophets and shall show great signs and wonders, in such a way as to deceive, if possible, even the elect" (Mt 24:24). We know that Jesus is the only true Messiah. The world gropes for mental tranquility and the solution to their problems. It is very difficult for such a convulsive world to offer some kind of solution. But people are willing to follow anyone who offers, even a slight hope. They even try to communicate with their "god" by means of rites and ceremonies full of different sacrifices and philosophies. The world, with its wars and many problems, has pushed people towards false prophets, and sadly towards the practice of occultism and mysticism. People without Christ follow any doctrine in search of spiritual relief, and when one is disappointed, they follow others.
Humanity is preparing to receive a great false messiah: the antichrist. On one occasion, the Lord Jesus Christ said: "I have come in my Father's name, and you do not receive me, if another comes in his own name, he will receive you" (John 5:43). The world does not have confidence in governments; the decline in them is like a welcome greeting for this man, who will be the last world emperor. This situation will help this man in his conquest of the last human government. This man will come with a whole "peace and security" program. You will obtain the loyalty of those who remained after the Rapture, who will acclaim you as a kind of messiah. The world will confide his problems to him, and he, in a deceptive and intelligent way, will take them out of their misery and chaos for a while.
Next to him will work a man, whom the Bible refers to as the false prophet, who will not seek glory for himself, but will draw all attention to this man and seek to adore and pay homage to him. Now, how will this man present himself and who is he? The Bible does not allow any man to be designated as the antichrist; We do not know his name, and we do not really know who he might be, but we do know a lot about him, through the Scriptures.

In the first place, this man will come out of the revived Roman Empire, which will be made up of nations from Europe, Asia and the Middle East; whose regions formed the ancient Roman Empire. Let's review the prophecy of Daniel 7: 7-8.

The fourth beast was dreadful and terrible, and in great strength, it had great iron teeth; he devoured and crumbled, and the leftovers he trod with his feet, and it was very different from all the beasts that I saw before him, and he had ten horns. While looking at the horns, behold, there was another small horn between them, and three horns of the first were snatched before him, and behold, this horn had eyes like that of a man and a mouth that spoke great things.

This fourth beast is the Roman Empire, the greatest empire of antiquity and the one that did not have its treasure. The ten horns are ten kings or kingdoms. Currently in Europe, we are seeing the resurgence of this colossus, with the birth of the European Common Market, that is, the European Economic Community. And the little horn that came out between them, which had eyes and mouth like a man, is a man: the antichrist.

When this dictator is known, he will take the confederation of the European Common Market. This man will possibly have his empire in Western Europe, in the ancient Roman Empire. Of the ten nations mentioned in Daniel's prophecy, seven will voluntarily surrender their dominions and power, but three will resist, being overthrown by the antichrist (Dan 7: 8). This dictator will enter the scene with great conquering power and win the sympathy of the whole world through "promises of peace, prosperity and security." But the reality is that it will throw the earth to one of the most terrible and tragic times that has been lived. "It will be a tribulation that has not been from the beginning of the world nor will there be" (Matthew 24:21). Jesus himself called it that: "The Great Tribulation."

This man can not appear while the church of Jesus Christ, the Bride of the Lamb, is here on earth. If this man made himself known now, we, the true church of Jesus Christ, have the authority and the power to destroy his plans and purposes, to rebuke him in the name of Jesus, and he could not do anything. But as soon as the trumpet sounds and the glorious outburst occurs, and we will be safe with the Lord, the eternal refuge, then, woe to the inhabitants of the earth, because they will be days of anguish and persecution, like never before .

This man will be the most terrible tyrant that ever lived on the face of the earth. An instrument used by the enemy of souls, full of the hatred and anger of Satan against God, the Almighty. He will not speak against other kings, but, in his madness, he will speak against God. It will show a special antagonism towards the highest, its saints and all the sacred.
