Celebrating 6months Journey on steemit -From a newbie to a Mentor

in Steem4Nigeria2 days ago (edited)
Hello everyone, am so excited today celebrating my first six (6) month on steemit. When I first clicked “Sign Up” on Steemit in March 2025, I wasn’t just joining another social platform, I was stepping into a world I knew very little about, but felt deeply curious to explore. I made my first introduction post in April, driven with passion to reputation of 61.

If am to be truthful to myself, there were times I felt like giving up, after series of writing and posting and commenting, no rewards, I felt frustrated, sometimes sad, but I still got motivation and inspiration from my boss @bossj23. He on pushing me to be consistent and not to be after rewards but I should canvas to be the best version of myself, be creative and engaged on other people Post. He encouraged me to power up and improve my reputation. With that I gain more confidence that am here to stay in steemit.

I will continue to remain grateful to Bossj23 for his sacrifices and time he invested on teaching and guiding me properly, giving me all the "do's and don't" . The rules and and how to avoid committing crimes in steemit, especially the crime of Plagiarism, AI and cross posting. He taught me everything. I had no idea how much this platform would shape my creativity, connections, and even my sense of community.

But today, my journey didn’t just stop at learning for myself. As I grew, I realized the true beauty of Steemit lies in lifting others along the way. That’s when I made a decision: I wouldn’t walk this journey alone. I reached out, shared what I had learned, and began mentoring others. Little by little, I guided five amazing people onto the platform, teaching them how to create accounts, find their voice, post with purpose, and engage meaningfully with the community Over time, I.e, helping them not just to join but also to thrive on the platform. From walking them through account creation, to teaching them how to curate content, engage in communities, and understand the value of consistency, teaching them exactly what I was taught because I believe in transfer of knowledge from one person to another. What I learned from. Bossj23, I was able to transfer it to them, and my each mentorship became a success story I am proud of.

I derived a lot of joy watching them grow, publish quality posts, and even mentor others in return has been one of the most rewarding parts of my Steemit journey. Today, I’m not just building my own presence here, but also building a small ripple effect of positive influence. "We grow by lift others"

But you know the funny part of the story, I am like a father who wishes his children to grow higher than him in life. Some of my mentees has grown higher than me, something am very proud of. I wouldn't say it is because of the used of #newcomer but I see their consistency and application of my lessons.

Here are some of their best post.

For me, Steemit has become more than a blogging platform it’s a place where creativity meets opportunity, and where we rise by lifting others. And this is just the beginning of my story here.

Thank you once again.

Thank you my boss but your boy is weighing down oooo. No more rewards to my effort. Am dam getting down😌😌😌😌😌😌

They are watching you closely. Just show that you're not just after the vote but the benefit your creative posts gives and then, see what happens. You'll definitely get their attention. I've seen your efforts. You're doing well. Not getting an Upvote shouldn't discourage you from writing even though it's disheartening at time. You'll definitely get over this.

Thank you for this encouragement. 🤝

Thank you mentor for showing me the way, guide and giving in you time. You such a selfless person. Congratulations my mentor
