Luke 22:14-20. Do this in remembrance of me!

14 When the hour came, Jesus and his apostles reclined at the table. 15 And he said to them, “I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer. 16 For I tell you, I will not eat it again until it finds fulfillment in the kingdom of God.”
17 After taking the cup, he gave thanks and said, “Take this and divide it among you. 18 For I tell you I will not drink again from the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes.”
19 And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.”
20 In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.
Dear Friends
Celebrate the Church this week, the feast of Jesus, Supreme and Eternal Priest; the Gospel shares with us the memory of the Last Supper, in which Jesus, when the Hour arrived, came to the table with his disciples.
The first words given by Jesus focus everything on the hour expected for the Redemption of humanity, the fulfillment of God's plan of salvation, Jesus aware of what awaits him, which is nothing other than suffering, renunciation of himself and obedience to the Will of God, alludes not only to the definitive moment of the Death that was to happen but to the whole path of the Passion that was to suffer, which contains the redeeming force but also predicts its final victory.
Immediately, Jesus instituted the sacrament of the Eucharist, for the understanding of the Mystery of Jesus since in the New Covenant that God makes with humanity the Paschal Lamb offered and the Priest are oneself: Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ is Summoned and Eternal Priest, the apostles, those who decide to follow more radically the Lord, have the delicate and beautiful function of making the connection between the person of Jesus and all his ministry to make him alive in all the communities called by Jesus, as the consequence of their Paschal Mystery, offering themselves as priests and propitiate that the mission of the Church is to celebrate the memorial of the Passion, Death and Resurrection of Jesus, in the sacrament of the food of Eternal Life, that is, the Eucharist, by means of which All the disciples of Jesus participate in the Passover Supper, anticipation of the great Eschatological Banquet, where Christ himself offers to human beings the fullness of his Ministry and to share with them the Glory of God the Father.
