Édouard Cortès, the urban landscaper of Paris
Today I bring you a little about the life and work of some of the most beloved painters in France, recognized as one of the best urban landscape painters in Paris with his impressionist paintings, really impressed many in Paris, especially because their effects were very similar to what the eyes perceive. I'm talking about Édouard Cortès, the urban landscaper of Paris. Come with me to learn more about the life and work of this incredible artist.

Born in Lagny Sur Marne, on August 8, 1882, his father of Spanish origin moved to France to paint. When Antonio Cortés, father of little Edouard, lived in Spain, he was a painter of the Spanish royal court.
Although I titled the urban landscaper of Paris in the art scene was known as the poet of the Parisian poet of painting or in French "Le Parisien Poete de la Peinture" dedicated almost all his production to portray different facets of the city of Paris, standing out for creating atmospheres at different times of the year depending on the season, if it was spectacular winter reflections of water on the ground, as well as intense colors in summers with spectacular sunsets or as is known in photography today as the golden hour.

His father taught him the profession of painting, although his father was more linked to the classic style, neo-classical and realism, the young man was always free to experiment with other styles, linking with the Impressionist movement a style that was already giving that talk at the time, in 1901 makes his first exhibition, had excellent criticism at the time which helped him to position himself quickly.

As he was very young in front of other painters of greater age and more experience in the Parisian art in several occasions he was boycotted by the press, they mocked because he was very young almost always confusing him with a simple art student.

He had his warrior period when the first world war began, so he had to enlist in the French infantry regiment, very contrary to his philosophy of peace, it was not his choice but his acceptance as such, but quickly his stay and participation in the war was resolved with a decoration for having been wounded in combat. Although he retired from the battlefield he was working as a war painter.

After totally disassociating himself from the war, he returns to his trade and continues painting until he has the opportunity to exhibit in New York and Chicago where his success was much more devastating than in Paris, moves to the United States where he paints and lives for a while until you return to his hometown, before leaving the United States acquires a warehouse where he keeps part of his paintings made in North America, but then were stolen.

Since the year 2000, his paintings were reappearing thanks to FBI investigations that managed to connect criminal acts with the appearance of a work in a second-hand sale, some were returned to Paris and others were auctioned in the United States.

His brushstroke was immortalized, his paintings are still today an obligatory reference for figurative painters, realists, and impressionists, especially for the numerous study of light and temperature, which took years to analyze depending on the season, this means that his color palette was very varied.
