Excellent point. One does not become a gentleman by putting on a nice suit, or by following the dictates of society ... or even the dictates of "polite" society. And just because certain people call a man a "gentleman," that does not mean that the man is one.

As Fela says, one becomes a gentleman by being original, by being true to one's heart and soul.

This is a fine summary of Fela's message, as you have rightly put it, one becomes a gentleman by being original and by being true to one's heart and soul.

These days we seem to have too many fake guys who parade themselves as gentlemen. E.g B.B
