Long live life while life is life!

From a very young age, I have seen death pass before my eyes time and time again. As a nurse and doctor, I have seen many sick people. Some have arrived suddenly ill, while others have been ill for a long time but arrive with no vital signs.

I have seen human beings arrive at hospitals in many forms, and it's sad to see. But when it comes to providing health care, no matter how a living being arrives, they are treated accordingly.

I learned to cover up my feelings, to become strong in the face of human pain. But the human side is always there. The pain of departure is seeing a loved one suffer when a family member leaves. The heart cannot be closed to pain. It disturbs the psyche.

I was trained in this environment. Since I was 15 years old, I have seen death come and go again and again. Strangers, some not so strange, adults, children, babies, unborn babies, the elderly.

Now that I am a senior citizen, almost 70 years old, I look around and see only memories of loved ones. Many friends and many family members have passed away. Others are on the brink.

They say life is short, but I have so many memories of loved ones who have been gone for many years, and I don't think life is short at all. We have pigeonhole life into hours, ages, and years, and we let so many hours pass by on things that leave us with nothing to learn.

Having fun, sharing, celebrating with the people we love, friends, family, strangers—those moments are what we need to feel that we are still alive. That we are not part of that group that has already moved on to another level.

We wait for our time to come, calmly and joyfully. We don't know when it will come. In the moments when I feel sad thinking about all those who have already left, I stop to think that, for some unknown reason, they have gone first.

I am certain that I, too, will leave at some point, so I respectfully honor the lives of those who have already left, but above all, I celebrate with enthusiasm that I still share with the people I love and with whom I can share.

We are living beings fulfilling vital functions: being born, reproducing, and dying. In addition to doing things that other living beings cannot do, such as doing good and remaining upright in the face of life.

Long live life while life is life!

Hello friend. Like you I have seen so many things in my work, things that my family ignores, for their own mental health, so they don't worry unnecessarily about the risks I expose myself to. I have seen so many people suffer, get injured and even lose their lives, in all ages and by many circumstances, even violent ones. I have seen up close so many atrocities, aberrations and mistakes that some people fall into, sometimes intentionally and sometimes unintentionally, that I have learned to differentiate when it is either, that I have learned to empathize when I notice that it is something that was not intended. I've seen friends and acquaintances fall.... Some in horrible circumstances... So many things that harden our souls, things that no one understands, that have taught me that every moment matters and that sometimes the simplest, is the most beautiful. Sometimes I only find mental refuge by being close to my family, with the ones I love.... In short, it is as you say: “As long as life is life, we must celebrate it”.

All those experiences that become part of our memories, I don't know for what reason or circumstances they remain anchored in the brain. Every time death touches my being again, then it is like when we step in the dust where we walk. He gets up, makes his noise, and falls again.
What matters, at the end of all, is that we have more and more strength to endure suffering and move forward. Because while we are on this plane, we must be united in love; it is what gives us the strength to continue until our turn comes.
Long live life!
