Almond milk

Recently a friend told me that she is consuming almond milk, her doctor recommended it and she tells me that since she takes a change in her body, almond milk is nourishing and antiseptic for the intestines, it contains vitamins A, B and E, calcium, iron and magnesium in large quantities and fiber, is very easy to digest and provides a good amount of protein. But I had to look for the benefits of drinking almond milk.

Benefits of drinking almond milk:

  • Does not contain lactose or gluten

  • Lower "bad" cholesterol levels

  • It is an incredible source of potassium

  • It contains a lot of calcium

  • High content of vitamins and minerals

  • It is rich in essential fatty acids

Apart from these wonderful benefits I also found some contraindications, of course all this must be confirmed with your trusted doctor.

  • Excess of sugar: The milk of almonds does not contain sugar naturally, for that reason the manufacturers add it to make it sweeter.

  • Children can not consume it: According to studies by the American College of Nutrition, newborns who drink almond milk develop an autoimmune thyroid disease.

  • It can impair the functioning of the thyroid: Almonds contain natural chemicals that can inhibit the absorption of iodine in our body, which can damage the thyroid.

Plant milks are fashionable, not only for vegans or vegetarians, but for a large number of people who have decided to lead a healthy lifestyle, what I call my attention is that you can prepare it yourself at home, then you I give the recipe.

Ingredients:

  • 1 glass of raw almonds
  • 3 glasses of water
  • Brown sugar
  • Vanilla aroma

Preparation:

Almond milk can be prepared in two ways: The first is to let the almonds (always without skin) soak for 12 hours in water, so that the almonds begin the pre-germinated process. We remove that water and crush the almonds adding water, until leaving the drink with the texture that we like after casting.

The second way to make almond milk at home is to simply crush the almonds along with the water, strain and serve.

La leche de almendras es excelente, acá puedes conseguirla ya hecha, la verdad te cae mucho mejor en el organismo, yo consumo la de soja porque es mas económica y también es mejor que la de vaca, esperemos las cosas se vayan arreglando en Venezuela para que la alimentación mejore, que se lo difícil que está eso ahora, mucho mas limitante que cuando me vine, a no sucumbir, ánimo que si se va a ir mejorando la situación, abrazos
