Xenophobia
As always it is a pleasure for me to use the privilege that the platform gives me to be able to write an article for you, giving you my most sincere greetings wishing that there is peace and abundance in your homes and that there never lacks any kind of good for you or your family. Recently I have read some news referring to events happened between citizens of the brother country (Ecuador) and Venezuela, today I want to write my point of view on the matter not as one who has the truth in his hands but as a citizen with the freedom to emit his personal opinion hoping that this opinion can obtain the respect that those who read it is that they share it or not, in the same way I respect the opinion of each one.

The spark that ignited the fire
For those of you who don't know what I'm writing about, I'm going to give you a brief summary of the facts. Recently in Ecuador a person of Venezuelan nationality stabbed a pregnant woman causing the death of two beings, the fact was recorded and immediately became viral in social networks which caused indignation and reprisals against some citizens who even lost their lives in the hands of those who considered it fair to take them off, all this echoed in the news for which some Ecuadorian citizens residing in Venezuela were also victims of reprisals by some Venezuelans. It seems to me that all the aggressors mentioned in this paragraph are irrational ignoramuses and I would like to express why I consider them so.
First of all I euphorically condemn the act committed by that person who took the life of a defenseless woman and her baby, I think and agree that this person should apply all relevant laws and pay for what he did regardless of nationality because this specific person has committed a serious crime and should pay for it.
Secondly, I do not understand why other citizens unaware of the facts had to pay with their lives only because the criminal had a document that identified him as a Venezuelan citizen. Is this a reason to hate us? and if he had a doctorate we would hate all doctors? I don't know if I have written the point clearly but in case I won't make an effort to make it clear in the next paragraph.

Labels do harm
In my opinion it is not right to judge a person by the acts of another just because they both carry the same label imposed by society, each person is responsible for their acts and the laws do not condemn a person for belonging to a race, culture, country, profession but condemn the violator independently, that is, I don't see why Venezuelans should pay for acts committed by a delinquent just because he was of that nationality, nor do I see why Ecuadorians in Venezuela should pay for acts committed by ignorant people who acted violently against Venezuelans. All this only creates a chain and a dangerous circle.
With regard to the fact itself, there are criminals in every country and I do not see that the acts of those criminals cause the rejection of the citizens of that country abroad.
I want to give advice to all those who receive Venezuelans in other countries on how to deal with them:
First of all, do not judge him for better or worse by comparing him with other people, but evaluate the acts of that person and act towards him on the basis of his acts. Do not be charitable just because it is Venezuelan and comes from a country devastated by the crisis because it is the charity of the current government that has made many Venezuelans accustomed to obtaining things easily, in this sense we all work to obtain things and if you want to help someone that "someone" must know that he is winning what he gets.
Don't mistreat him and humiliate him only because of his nationality, first evaluate if you can help him with work and if you can't just don't do it but avoid humiliating him. There was a time when our country was prosperous and was the destination of many foreigners who came from all continents in search of opportunities, I clearly remember that many made wealth almost immediately and we Venezuelans were always friendly, we even have a German community in Venezuela, communities from different countries. We never kicked anyone out and we did not close the door to prevent them from entering.
More importantly, Venezuela is a country full of mismanaged wealth, but it is a rich country, so at some point there will be a good administration and those wealth will give us back a good position and we will be attractive as an opportunity to the foreigner, the healthiest thing is that those Venezuelans who are abroad today return to the country (when there is security and stability) with a grateful heart and not with a heart full of hatred for those who mistreated him. Remember that your position of comfort does not give you the right to humiliate and mistreat the needy as the world turns and circumstances could change against you, so as long as you can do good do it and you will be guaranteed future well-being.
This is only my point of view, if you share it or have a different one I would like you to let me know respectfully in a comment. Thank you for reading and remember that together we do more.
