Hello friends, I have been learning how to edit videos from @anailuj1992 on steemit. It has been a great learning phase and I want to really stress how important editing videos is in content creation.
For this week, I learnt about transitions, animations and visual effects.

After learning, I applied this new lesson to my new video; a vlog of my break time at my work place and I was happy I could make a good vlog from the lesson I learnt on steemit.

I will be dividing every step in making this vlog into three parts which are:

A. The Recording Process

Recording the video was already planned in my head before I started. I had to write down Clips I wanted in the video before setting out from the office.
I took clips of myself, going out from the office, in the bus, going from one mall to the other, getting street food etc. Altogether the clips were 23 different videos. The next step was the sorting of the videos and knowing which one fits exactly to what I wanted.

B. The Editing Process

Editing this video was the strenuous part because i had 23 different videos which I made and I had to think of ways to put them together to get a good piece. So I started with adding all the videos to capcut and then sorting out the videos one after the other. Let's see the steps involved in editing the video.

i. Rearranging the videos and splitting:

With the help of the split icon, I cut videos into two then deleted the part I didn't need. For some I used the drag bar to delete it off. In no time I was done sorting and arranging the clips to my taste. Something was missing after arranging this videos and I knew I needed a background song to help me know how to go about the transitions from one clip to another.

ii. Choosing a Background song:

My choice of a background song was a free song from capcut. I found a great background song after some minutes of searching. I kept the volume of the background sound low. With the help of this background song, It was easy to transition from one video clip to the next one. The music has to flow with the transition of the video from one clip to the other.

iii. Adding Transitions, Effects and Animations:

After the addition of the background music, the video started taking shape, what I imagined in my head was showing up in the video. So the next step was effects, transition and animation.

Firstly, I adjusted some parts of the video; the saturation and brightness was really low from the video I made, so I increased it a little and that particular clip looked better.

After which I added effects to different clips and also some animations. To make the video look aesthetic and beautiful, I added different effects to it. I also added transitions to each of the clips where necessary to make it beautiful. Then I worked on the transitions in the clip. I made sure that the background song and the transitions were in synchronization.

iv. Overlay:

I also added the steemit logo as an overlay throughout the video. I kept it at the top right corner of the video and also reduce it to a minimal size.

C. The Voice-over:

The last part of the video process is the addition of voice-overs. With the help of the in-built voice over tool on capcut. This tool helped me record my voice. I was able to delete the part I didn't want and I loved how the background noise was reduced by this tool.

The video duration is 1 minute and 40 seconds and this is everything that was said in the voiceover:

"My name is John.... Sometimes the best part of the day is this exact moment. Yeah this is me, sitting on the bus and acting like I have it all together. But let's be honest, food is on my mind. Finally the bus is here to rescue us from spreadsheets and files, let's roll. The ride takes us through the city; busy roads, companies and trucks are everywhere.
Here we go, we arrived at our first stop, Kilimanjaro, Market Square...the options are always plenty and my job is to explore right?

Damn I love cakes; always tempting, sweet and soft but my stomach is calling for something louder, let's go!

What do we have here, plantain and fish! There is something about Port Harcourt city and Bole (roasted plantain), it's not just food but an experience that leaves your taste buds wanting more.

Of course I am not stopping here, I am getting pastries too. Yeaaahhh, I know what's on your mind; I love food right? Yes I really do.

Break time is over and back to work we go. I am pretty satisfied, happy and a little slower. Well, just like that my little adventure came to an end. Thanks for coming with me. Take care"

At the end, the video was ready and exported.
I used an iPhone to make the videos before sending them to Redmi 10c for editing. Screenshots were also taken on the Redmi 10c device.

I invite @imohmitch, @davidmarkgeorge, and @ujunwa01 to participate in this contest.

I uploaded it on YouTube and here is the video below:

¡Holaaa amigo!🤗

Thank you very much, I really appreciate your kind words.

You have made a very beautiful video. Where you have shown moving buses, trucks, etc. on the side of the road. You have shown cakes and other items inside the market. It is nice to hear that you like cakes a lot. I also like cakes a lot. But I don't understand one thing, why did you reduce the size of the video?? It seems that the beauty of your video has been ruined.

I had to compress it due to space...It is not my fault.
