First Visit to Nagar Bhaban and the Experience: A Real-Life Diary.

Yesterday was a unique and eventful day for me, filled with new experiences. A senior official from our office, along with our manager sir, assigned me a special task at the Nagar Bhaban of Narayanganj City Corporation. The building is located in the Nitaiganj area of Narayanganj city. As it was my first time visiting the Nagar Bhaban, I naturally felt curious and excited.

At around 11:00 in the morning, I left the office under the scorching sun and headed towards Nagar Bhaban. Two officials handed me a bag that contained some money and documents. I was instructed to deliver this bag to a specific gentleman. Based on what I could gather, the documents were likely related to tax matters.

I learned that several office staff members, along with some external individuals, had constructed a nine-story building. The documents and payments were likely related to settling outstanding taxes or other associated costs. Their intention was to complete everything legally and according to government rules, so that no complications would arise in the future regarding the land deeds or related paperwork.

Upon reaching Nagar Bhaban, I had to wait for a while. The person I was to deliver the bag to was a busy and responsible official. He made it clear that he does not engage in any unlawful or irregular activities. According to him, if the documents are in order and the government fees are paid properly, the work will be completed smoothly—there is no need for unnecessary worry.

I was impressed by the environment of Nagar Bhaban. The architectural design of the building was excellent, and the surroundings were clean and shaded. Many people were seen waiting there, each seeking solutions to various issues. It made me realize that Nagar Bhaban is not just a building—it is the heart of a city where tireless efforts are made to ensure civic services for the common people.

As I was leaving the building, light rain started falling. After returning home, I had lunch and took some rest before heading back to the office. But this time, I faced another challenge. The rain became so heavy on the way that I ended up drenched like a soaked crow. The sky these days can't be trusted—sunny one moment, pouring the next. With wet clothes, I continued working in the office until 6:00 PM. By then, thankfully, my clothes had dried. When I finally reached home, it was almost 7:30 in the evening.

This day will remain a memorable chapter in my life. Witnessing the operations inside Nagar Bhaban, the efforts of citizens to obtain government services, and the sincerity of a government official—all made me reflect deeply. We often hold negative perceptions about government offices, but reality can be quite different. If all the necessary documents are in place and proper procedures are followed, the work can be done—easily and promptly.

I believe that if every citizen abides by the rules, and the government continues to make its services more accessible, together we can build a better and more orderly society. This experience has made me more aware of my responsibilities as a citizen and of how the system works.

The system in our country is good, but we often misuse it and make it dysfunctional. I hope everyone becomes more aware and starts following the law.
