Plus a show and tell t’ boot!

I had been given the honor of claiming the Second Place Prize two months earlier and now I was given the privilege of claiming the top Silverton Prize this time around.

” Twas ‘eartwarming momen’ when th’ Keptin gave me th’prize wit an ‘earty salu’. Th’ crew sang ‘Scotland th’ Brave’, the blue and white flag flyin’ proud in th’wind t’ th’ thunderin’ o’ a broadside. I owes it t’ yea Spiney fer me t’ be a fine mucker as ye taught me!”

Well shiver me timbers, An RMC round as the grand Prize! Didn’t Republic closed business several months ago?

If any of you have been following @joshuaslane 's interactive Silver Adventures you may already have an idea of his blogging style. Learning the language is part of the added depth and charm of this adventure as I myself enjoy a well thought out Role play.

Added is the Incentive to encourage to "enroll" just by participating by upvoting or better yet Comment and it may just be written into the Adventure and he'll even translate it into the proper idiom. The Silverton Prize is a full one ounce of bullion silver; second place is a half-ounce, and finally a quarter-ounce for third.

It’s better than being bribed into service in taking the 'King's Shilling or the uncouth act of being volunteered by a Press gang, the 'Keptin' respects individual liberty. Now what can say liberty than Silver in your hand? Thank you Keptin Joshua Slane and a pleasure to be at your service!

And have I got more to show! Something I borrowed from my Stacking friend for this article.

Seychelles Commemorative 100 Rupee

The reverse featuring a pair of White-tailed Tropic birds denote the Fiat value of 100 Rupee that is equivalent to $9.60 CAD at the time of this article. A product of the Royal Mint and a total mintage of this beautiful coin are a mere 8,528 coins! Definitely worth more than the fiat value this coin has 31.6 grams of 0.925 Sterling Silver or 29.3 net grams silver.

Obverse is the Seychelles Coat of Arms and year of issue.

To be up to date with Captain Joshua Slane’s latest Silver adventures episode the Keptin’s current tour of duty takes us to vicinity of the Gulf of Aden and North of the Seychelles islands and a confrontation with the Jinn. Also catch up and be familiar with his Current contest, rules and updates. Yes, another three Silvers are up for grabs!

An old and fairly rare 1966 Seychelles 5 Rupee banknote

Today the Seychelles archipelago, or more accurately the Republic of Seychelles, established in 1976, is a collection of 115 islands located in the Indian Ocean just north and by northeast of Madagascar. There is a population of 94,000 people spread over on just 459 sq. kilometers.

Seychelles map from Wiki by CCO 3.0

While this region has plenty of political, environmental and of course current day Pirate issues, with over a hundred islands here there could still dwell plenty of old tales about old Pirate hijinks lurking about from the local Island Hopping tours.

2013 Turqoise 10 Rupee Note now demonetized since Sept 2018

And according to an archeological study there have been a pirate presence before the English, French colonial even before any permanent settlements at times prior. Since there's yet to be any historical research we can afford a wee bit o' creative license.

2013 Violet 25 Rupee Note now demonetized since Sept 2018

Perhaps the ghosts of the past can still whisper one tale of a ship named The Silverton under the command of one Captain Joshua Slane two hundred and fifty years ago.

2013 Olive green 50 Rupee Note now demonetized since Feb 2018

2008 Red 100 Rupee Note now demonetized since June 2017

Absent is the 500 Rupee denomination note.

I wish to thank my friend, stacking mentor, and neighbor Punky’s Dad for loaning me these lovely Seychelles currency and coin from his collection and to let you know I will be showing more of ‘His’ Collection here for your enjoyment.

Congratulations on your wins, sis @kerrislravenhill! Very nice prices from @joshuaslane. If you recall, I seconded your nomination to sponsor him to ssg. He seem to be doing well in steemit!

Thanks Sis, contemplating going for the Quarter Ounce Prize to complete the SET as I sit out this round to Cool off. I can see that the language tends to be a little barrier to participation for most readers. I really enjoy the role play and learning the Scottish seafaring lexicon gives this Adventure a depth, character and appreciation of how diverse and colorful Pirate language can be. Wish our Irish lass @beckieg could once again join in. Keep your Flintlock primed and your powder dry Sis.

Sweet...

June 30, 2019... 15.4 Hollywood Time...

And it was just for participating in his adventure.

Thanks @dwingsworld Joshua had been writing this story for quite a while without much recognition and having him in our community will be a definite boost. It's rather fun to learn the seafaring language from the Scottish perspective and it's own contribution into Pirate lexicon that has its own genuine diversity. September 19th will be "Talk like a Pirate day" , get into fun!

Always a pleasure serving with you Keptin, this Seychelles 100 Rupee is 0.925 sterling silver with a mintage under 9000 makes it quite collectible. I'm glad you liked the sketch, a wee part of skills by learning the Map making arts.

Wow... I never seen those rounds before and The RMC is AMAZING 😍 I like The second one to.. Beautiful but The first one is my favorite.
Congrats on such a Great gift 😉 sweet of @joshuaslane
Thank you for sharing and for being The inspiration you are 🤗💞

I've seen some silver pourers melt RMCs down for their art in recent months arguing that these are not as rare as most Stackers think, these have been considered Generic rounds for quite a while but i have not seen many in Canada as this is the only one I will have. That said, there are so many different products out there it is literally limitless, many are just beautiful. Thank you for your thoughtful comment and huge upvote @saffisara

Very Nice Kerris
Yes RMC is No Longer so That is a Good Thing for These Silver Rounds........

I don't think they will be in the same status as Engelhard or Johnson Mathey perhaps a teeny premium but at least am interesting back story to the round.

Couldn't post any earlier to get the full 100%. Living the Pacific zone always means everyone east of you will ahead of you.

I really like the bank notes. Being in the land of boring paper money I always am excited to the fancy colored currency all the rest of the world gets to enjoy.

The notes and coin are on loan from a friend that got me into Stacking silver a few years back. He collected colorful banknotes too, wears Hawaiian shirts and likes Reggae. I will be showing a few more of his collection if I need it for variety.
It's rather hilarious as he dresses in colorful Hawaiian standing next to a girl looking as if she is going to a funeral.
