Late night cold dessert at Fiika Cafe

For the love of sweets, me and brother ended up at Fiika Cafe. I was craving for cake but I wanted to try some place else that I have not been to yet. My brother suggested Fiika Cafe.

Unfortunately or fortunately, no cakes or cupcakes were available but they have halo-halo, my favorite dessert. Halo-halo is a Filipino cold dessert which consists of but not limited to leche flan, ube halaya, nata de coco, sweetened banana, sweet potato, mung beans, white beans, pinipig, shaved/crushed ice, liberally soaked with milk and topped with ice cream and cherry.

Unlike my friend who eats this by layer, what you should do is to mix all the ingridients. Thus, the word halo-halo or mix mix.

Because I was not contended with one scoop of ice cream, I ordered another.

Fiika's Halo-Halo comes in a big mug such that it can be shared. Good thing I was in the mood to eat such so I gobbled it all up lol!

You can't go wrong with halo-halo. Even just those sold on the streets, it's still good.

We also tried their maple waffles. This became my top of the list instantly. I like how soft yet firm and at the same time packed it was. This is thicker than the other waffles I have eaten. I can do away with the cream and cherry.

Since this is my first time here, I wanted to try their other food and we decided on pizza.

This is a personalized kind of pizza because you get to choose between red or white sauce. You are given choices of toppings and you get to choose four toppings. Each topping is priced separately.

We opted for beef, chicken, jalapeno and olives. The pizza has a very thin crust that it was crispy and hard at the edge.

It was a perfect match for this Lol-Tun chili sauce. It was my first time to try this sauce and I like it.

They also serve hot and cold beverages. Our meal comes with lemon water so I didn't bother ordering any other drinks. My brother, however, tried their Dancing Queen Tea.

This comes in a tall sexy wine glass so you can watch the flowers "bloom" slowly.

They have other kinds of flower tea and it they mix different kinds of flowers. Dancing Queen was the one recommended by the staff so that's what my brother ordered. It comes with honey as a sweetener.

Fiika Cafe has both indoor and outdoor seating. Seats are really comfortable although I find some of them too low. It's a place to be intimate or to be with group of friends. It seems to be one of the residential houses that was turned into a cafe. The place is well lit and clean. From the outside, you wouldn't think it would be spacious.

There is a fireplace that is not lit. Silverware, paintings, old records, dried flowers, sculptures, pots were seen distributed throughout the place. It was well balanced and gives the feeling of less is more.

The price of food and drinks is affordable to midrange. This is near schools so I think the target market is students. It is also within a residential area which makes the affordability of prices convenient. I find the flower tea pricey because there's a cafe I know that is way cheaper but I guess it was a different brand or kind.

The serving time is quick maybe because our orders were easy to prepare.

Fiika Cafe is located at Poblacion, Buyagan, Benguet, Philippines. It is near Buyagan Elementary School and Cordillera Career Development College.

They open from 9:00 to 8:00 p.m. daily. Wifi is available. Pay as you order on cash basis only.

It was an overall fulfilling time at Fiika Cafe. Cravings fulfilled!
