IS GOD ASHAMED TO BE CALLED THEIR GOD?
God will not be ashamed to be called our God if we understand and live in this reality.
Hello beloved brethren, welcome to my blog , it’s already evening here in my place of meditation, and I decide to share little word with my friends.
I’m a kind of person that like discoursing truth and facts that may not be exciting to the flesh and sometimes if misunderstood may turn a killjoy.
Jesus said to the multitude of people who came all the way from the other side of the sea to meet with him, he said to them that he has a bread that when a man eat, then he shall not be hungry again, and the people shouted “evermore give us this bread!” They envisioned how this bread will taste like after eating from his miracle bread of five loaves and two fishes yesterday, but when Christ told them that his body is the bread, and his blood the drink, they left him in great disappointment.
The day of great disappointment
I’ve come known this man Jesus as one who is not emotional like us, what do I mean? As human, I could be emotional about something and because of that may end up allowing things that I shouldn’t have allowed. In order to get my point clearly, I’ll like us to check this place out.
Matthew 7:16-23 (KJV)
Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
How often do we ponder on this question; am I known of him? Or do we wishfully think that we shall have access on that great day of the Lord? The men in question here came with all boldness and assurance of great works that they accomplished in the name of Jesus whom they believed, just as we believe today, some of us reading this steem blog post may not be opportuned to do mighty works as these men who will get the everlasting shock of their lives by realizing that they’re never known by Christ Jesus. Now comes the huge question.
Who had they encountered.
Knowing and being assured that God can never lie should tell us that really Jesus didn’t know these men. But who are these men, we love pushing things to others especially when it’s not a pleasing circumstance, but these men are believers like you and I, in other words, Jesus was talking about us!
Isn’t a sad thing to know that some so called great men and women of God will miss this everlasting flight? Isn’t call for concern that many who have tasted the power of the world to come will still not make it to eternal rest with God?
But all this were written because of our sake so that we can learn and position ourselves in the right direction and pattern this race set before us. The story of the children of old Israel who witnessed the power of God like no generation would ever have, to the extent that God divided the Red Sea in making sure that they know him and also make it to the promise land, yet the scriptures recorded that all fell to their carcass in the wilderness because of unbelief except two; Joshua and Caleb.
Now let me answer the question at this juncture; it’s sad but I must say it out here, maybe some of us might pick the revelation. Some of us who believe and think that we’re working for God, living for God, experiencing God, and encountering God has not been known by Christ who is the way, we’re simply operating in the grace of God which is available for both believers and nonbelievers alike! Am saying this, not in a negative way but it’s true, apostle Paul says that we shouldn’t allowed the simplicity of the gospel to beguile us. The simple truth is that if we fail to understand fully what the grace is supposed to accomplish in our lives, we may end up being deceived by grace thinking that we’re known of Christ.
Now what is this grace?
Titus 2:11-13 (KJV)
For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
There’s no ambiguity with what we just read above, the grace of God is meant to teach us things, remember! A teacher is meant to teach a student after which the student is expected to carry out those tasks; what we’re encountering now is the grace of God which was given for everyone both believers and nonbelievers alike, this work of grace made everybody righteous even when we’re dead in sin, this work of grace raised us with Christ, and made us sit with Christ in heavenly place with God. Therefore the only difference between a believer and nonbeliever is that ‘knowing’ and ‘believing’, for with the heart a man believes unto righteousness and with his mouth confession is made unto salvation. Now if a man fail to learn these teachings from grace during this time of grace which are: denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, living soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world, and looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ. Until then those that lives are not yet known of Christ!
In conclusion:
Looking at our lives today as believers, are we living like they that really understand the hope of our calling; I mean why God has chosen to have for himself a peculiar people, or are we busy rubbing shoulders with the world, desiring what they desire, lusting over worldly riches and glory, are we living godly and righteously in this present world? Are we living like pilgrims who are looking for the appearing of their city where they belong or are we busy securing this present world as our home?
There’s good news for us!
God is not ashamed to be called our God if we live as his grace is teaching us as seen above!
Rejoice oh blessed of God!!

These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country. And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned. But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city. Hebrews 11:13-16 (KJV)
This is the only way that God will not be ashamed to be called our God. Are we living like our father Abraham or have we turned ourselves into children of this world by our actions and expectations?
