Congratulations to me! I have received my Employment Letter, Where and How? See details
The goodnews is that I have gotten my employment letter as a higher instructor in Abia State Polytechnic, now known as Ogbonnaya Onu Polytechnic Aba, my Alma mater, the school I graduated from. I am also posted to my department which is Accountancy and that means that I am going to start lecturing with time. Amazing! How did it happen? Details below 👇
Here, I detailed how I went for an interview for state teaching job. I waited for the outcome of that interview and documents submission and it was finally released. What I saw shocked me. I was invited again for presentation of documents because of any of the reasons they gave on the screenshot below
![]() | one of these is the reason why I wasn't taken. I felt so bad. |
---|
The date for the resubmission was fixed to be on the 14th of May, just the Wednesday after the burial of my late step brother and wife here and that was 2 months ago. As we waited to re-present our documents, the interviewers came out and announced that anyone without an educational qualification should not bother coming in to them as they are disqualifying such people. Since I wasn't with PhD in education or NCI or even a member os any educational body, I knew I had lost it.
People in the same category with me made efforts to go in but they were all disqualified. I put a call across to my brother who then told me to relax. Then he related my case to one of my uncles who is a senior custom services officer. He told me to relax, that he will assist me to get something better.
I came back waited and guess what? Last week Thursday, that's on 19th, I was asked to go to my Alma mater, my own school where I graduated to pick up my appointment later. That sounded like a good news to be. But first I was asked to send in my curriculum vitae which I sent immediately before preparing to travel.
I was asked to meet the Rector of the polytechnic and seeing him wasn't easy at all. I wanted that day, I couldn't see him because they were having council meeting. After which he went to see the Governor. Returning from there, he just left the office because it was late already. I slept over. The next Day, I managed to see him but very late when he was about leaving his office. He sent me to the personnel department to check if my letter has been printed. Getting there, they checked and it wasn't, I rushed back to him before he left. But he asked me to be back this week Tuesday. That was how I came back frustrated and even worried if I will get the appointment.
This week Tuesday, being 24th, I went back to his office and waited to see him. But he only arrived by 3.30 PM. He attended to few persons who came for another thing and it was his closing time already. Since I wasn't allowed to go in to see him, I stood on his way so that he could see me at least when leaving his office. He saw me as planned and asked why I didn't come in and that he wasn't aware that I came. He then spoke with a low tone, telling me to come back tomorrow being wednesday.
I left rejected again but slept over again to be able to meet him. Coming back that Wednesday, I was able to see him by 10am and he sent my appointment letter to the personnel department and asked me to go there with a written note that he gave me. It was finally given me to work as an academic staff to start work in my own department where I had studied. Wow! That is a dream come true for me. Before my graduation from school, they had a policy to retain the best student who had graduated with the highest grade which is Distinction and that was what I graduated with but they had stopped that policy before my graduation.
I made efforts then to be employed but it didn't work out for me. And now, that is where I found myself again.
Next was documentation. I was given a list of all the documents I need to present and then fill forms. Below is the upper body of my appointment letter and the lower body that contains the list of the documents I am to present.

I was already with some of the documents, I had to run around for the rest. I travelled to my hometown from there to get attestation letter from my Village Head, I got my medical certificate of fitness from the government hospital where I had given birth to all my kids. Then I got other documents ready. I succeeded in getting the attestation letter from my Village Head and returned by 1 pm Yesterday being Friday. Then I was guided to fill all the employment forms I was supposed to fill. I was posted to the department of Accountancy to meet with the Head of Department. I met him, he signed the letter I went with and told me to get ready to lecture. I am to start work next week Tuesday already because from the offer letter, I am supposed to have started since 2nd of this June. Incredible!
The Head of Department gave me advice to quickly enrol to obtain my PhD and masters and that once I obtain them, that I will grow faster. I promised that I will do that as soon as possible. I then went back to the personnel department to return the form that the HOD filled and signed. Then what is left is my verification and capturing but I will do that next week.
That was it dear friends, the long awaited employment is here! It therefore means that I might likely relocate to my former state of residence with time. But let's see how it goes. I am so excited right now.

This is my success story so far. But it is just a beginning of another journey. I pray for the wisdom to handle the post and then upgrade myself to be a PhD and masters degree holder. The future and what we do with the future will tell. Join me to celebrate and thank my God Jehovah for his goodness. I am back to base at the moment, preparing to resume work this coming Tuesday. Yes, Tuesday because the city doesn't go to work on Mondays which was occasioned by an insurgency long time ago but they are still adhering to it.
Meanwhile, I will miss my fitness group but I have already seen where to begin my fitness inside the school. I will share the story when I settle there first.

While i read this Ma, tears filled my eyes, tears of joy that we would miss you and secondly that a successful journey has begun, I could reflect back quickly to the scripture that says the hand of zerubabel has built the and his hand will certainly complete it, Ma what God has started he will use you to complete it. Keep pushing Ma, this is just the beginning and more are coming, for the masters and PhD you will get it for a promotion financially and in status, I don't how to explain my happiness but this world thing gladdens my heart..
This has served as a motivation for me that there is still hope in this country. At this time your sp will go higher and higher. You are favoured, you are intelligent, I need to call some friends to come and witness this goodnews, @bossj23 @dwings @whitie. MA I am happy for you congratulations, more wins..

I truly appreciate your kind words and prayers. It wasn't an easy journey. One door closed and another one opened immediately. It can only be God. I truly thank him for that. Yes, it's worth celebrating
This is goodnews, what we are praying for has come to pass it's Jehovah's doing. I'm so happy for you ma'am though I feel like bringing the branch of that school in Uyo where we can be seeing you everyday. I can't imagine seeing you once in a blue moon . Anyways it's all for Good. A big congratulations to you and your family. Cheers
Lol, if it were possible to bring that branch here, I know you would have done it. However, I am still around as I will be visiting until we finally decide to relocate. Thank you so much for the good wishes
