Hemos llegado a la edición 162 de Arte y Escritura. Para esta, les traigo como invitado a Lucien Joseph Simon:

Este distinguido artista plástico nació el 18 de julio de 1861 en París (Francia). Cursó estudios de secundaria en el Lycée Louis-le-Grand; luego se inscribió en el Taller de Jules Didier para iniciar sus estudios de pintura. Entre los años 1880 y 1883 se unió a la Académie Julian.

En el año 1891 expuso en los salones de Artistas franceses y en la Sociedad Nacional de Bellas Artes.

Se casó con Jeanne Dauchez, en el año 1891. Ella también se dedicaba a la pintura.

Lucien Simon empleaba técnicas de impresionismo, pero en tonos más oscuros.

Se desempeñó como profesor de pintura tanto en instituciones de arte como atendiendo alumnos de manera privada.

A partir del año 1923 formó parte de la planta profesoral de la Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes.

En el año 1937 ganó el Premio de la Exposición Universal de París.

Falleció el 13 de octubre de 1945, a los 84 años, en Combrit (Francia).
