Good Day Fellow Steemians, 😎

How Did I Find Art?

I am Ambali Omotayo by name but I chose to answer Tezzmax on this platform about 8 years ago. I grew up knowing just Art (Visual Art) as my escape route in life and now I've grown to embrace it as my lifestyle. I grew up with my Grandfather as a young boy with any form of social life and that loneliness led me to discover my talents and interests in Art, I drew portraits of lots of notable people in the society and some cartoon characters too.

What Does Art Means to Me?

Art basically means life to me but beyond that, Art is the principal way I use to weaponize my soul and strengthen my self esteem. I've existed in an environment where people and mostly parent see nothing bright in the future of those who chose to become artists but I'm glad and grateful to God and my family cause they accepted art for me just for the love, passion and dedication I showed towards it.

What My Art Looks Like?

A Chronicle of Bikers in Lagos

For now this seems to be largest painting (3.5 x 5 feet), it was my final year practical project at the University of Lagos, Nigeria. It was made with acrylic on Canvas and it portrays the lives of Bikers on the streets of Lagos.

Eureka

Eureka was a painting I made when I was trying to find something artistically new and unique to myself and in this cases I found a new monochromatic palette, the experience was quite thrilling.

Iyalode

With this piece was my first time trying out an unconventional materials in creating Art, I wanted to created a beautiful yet colourful artwork without or with less pigments and so I got some zippers of different colours and chopped them into pieces and then used them as colours instead of pigments such as acrylic or oil paints.

Reflection

This particular piece is still part of my recent explorations, I did came to the personal realization that I prefer drawing more to painting so I eventually found a way to take my drawings of canvas then I was felt with the quest of finding a way to bring both my drawings skills and my painting skills with almost equal finnese on the canvas....

A Glimpse At Freedom

At the point of creating this piece, I had come to the agreement on how I would be merging my drawing and painting skills in a very artistic manner that still allows me to be free with the way I throw my strokes around as thus I am merely playing around......... That's where my exploration still lies! 😎

Thank You All For Reading Through My Artistic Journey!

Tomorrow I'll stop by with Calama and let you know, you have some magnificent pieces.

Oh. Oh. You should have warned me to wait for you and I'd wait. The contest closed at noon and I've already posted the results, but don't worry, I'll post your pieces.

Oops.... Thank you friend, I had been thinking on what to do and how to do it, it took me some time before I could agree within myself to come up and come out with these.

Amazing workarts!

Thank you.

Wow, friend.
You really surprised me. It showcases an artist I wasn't familiar with, if I only go by what you publish daily.
I'm glad you took your time and thought about how to present this great presentation.
What impresses me about the whole thing is your ability to capture light using color, or lines and brushstrokes of color.

It reminds me of impressionism, capturing the light at midday, at sunset, at a nightclub... whatever.

My favorites

  • Iyalode, the colored zipper experiment. When I saw it, I thought you used a spatula to mark each colored dot. Then I read that you used pieces of zippers, like the "tiles" of a mosaic.
  • Reflection
The minimalism, the atmosphere, the framing, the use of white scribbles make it unique.

Anyway, my friend, I can only thank you for letting me get to know you better.

By the way, if you made a series of videos to learn "Painting with Tezzmax," you'd be a hit on Steem. I'll see you in an upcoming SLC challenge.

Make up your mind, I'm here to support you.

Thank you so much for the warm comment, I've heard so much about the video thing but would it work using just YouTube links?

By the way, it's difficult to post such detailed content on daily basis and at the same time very discouraging when such post is being shared and it never got noticed.

You're talking about https://speem.watch/, right?

Well, for now, you have to upload them to YouTube first, and with that link, they'll be located in the Steemit app.

You've been on Steemit for so many years, and if you write to get noticed, you'll feel discouraged. In my country, there's a saying that goes, "Get over it!" Do something else...

Think about it. If you decide to try videos, you have my contact information.

Funny how I haven't heard of Speem before now, I'll check it out and once I start I shall bring it to your notice.
