Renew your clothes
We were impressed when we saw TV shows that have images of 'transformation' of people, especially when the before and after is shown. It is almost always a careless person with the appearance and who is taken to do skin, dental treatments, receives a general hairdressing and earns a 'store bathroom'. After all this process the person is totally renewed.
When we become, something similar happens in our lives. Some even physically transform and their appearance improves a lot after they have a personal encounter with Jesus Christ.
In the text read, the apostle Paul seems to describe a change of clothes, but he is talking about the conversion or change in the life of one who accepts Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of his life.
If it were possible to see how we are dressed spiritually speaking, we could see what that means literally. But we can imagine that in the same way that we do not like to present ourselves badly prepared before people, so we must be ready to find God.
Is your clothes old or new?
Let's reflect on the words of the text and learn about the change of clothes that happens when we receive a new life:
1- Take old clothes
When the person goes through a renewal of customs, first learn to undo old things and coffee to enter a new style. It is necessary to do a cleaning to abandon the past fashions for a fad.
The first thing that the apostle teaches is to remove the old man's garment, which means the old habits before knowing Jesus when he acted without the fear of God. No ages and one's life rots, even leading to death (Romans 6:23).
Jesus taught that we should completely renew our lives and not just patch, teaching that "no one puts a piece of a new dress and puts it in an old dress, so that they break the new patch does not match the old man" (Luke 05:36). God does not want the sewing repairs on our hearts, but we completely renew the heart of stone and give a new heart of flesh sensitive to the Spirit of God (Ezekiel 36:26).

2.- Renew your life
Second, the person to be transformed goes through a general one in his body taking care of teeth, hair, skin and health in general.
Similarly the apostle Paul teaches that in addition to undoing all that is old, we must renew our inner life. It does not serve to throw away what is old and keep old practices and feelings within the heart and mind. This means "Be not conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind" (Romans 12.2).
As Christians we need to take care of our mental and emotional health beyond the abundant spirituality that we can only have in Jesus. For what is necessary to maintain the life of prayer, forgive people not to lead to old wounds within us (Matthew 6:13) and resist all the lies of the world "destroying, and all haughtiness that rises against knowledge of God, and taking every thought captive to obedience to Christ "(II Cor 10,5).
The work of conversion not only changes the clothes of the world by a new apparent religiosity. The real and definitive change occurs within the person to then be shown externally so that everyone sees. Even the sins that nobody knows, not even the sinner forgot to have committed (Psalm 19:12) The blood of Jesus is effective to cleanse and erase all sin (I John 1,7).

3 Use a new equipment
After the process of undoing old things and taking care of health, the next step is to renew the wardrobe of the person who goes through the transformation.
The text also teaches that after throwing off the mundane garment and being renewed inwardly by the regenerating blood of
Jesus Christ we need to put on the new man. This new man is not similar to the world and similar to Jesus Christ who came to teach us how God wants humanity to live.
Adam was created in the image and likeness of God, but with sin, he lost this function for what is different from the holiness of God (Genesis 1:27). Seeing that they had enxergaram sin they were naked because evil entered their heart so "fig leaves were sewn together, and they made girdles for themselves" (Genesis 3,7), this was the first team in history, but not It was enough to cover the sin, then "fz the Lord God made coats of skin for man and his wife, and clothed them" (Genesis 3:21).
By making the garment of skin, God sacrificed the first animal for the remission of sins, for "without shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness" (Hebrews 9:22).
When Jesus came, he became the model of holiness for the servants of God (I Corinthians 15.21,22). So we can not imitate the world, but "followers of Christ" (I Corinthians 11,1).
Wear a new suit means to change the way of life, improve the vocabulary, behavior, treat the temperament and character "until we all reach the unity of faith and knowledge of the Son of God, a perfect man, tailored of the stature of Christ "(Ephesians 4:13). The pattern of life for those who convert is the Word of God.

Why can not people change? Why only who made man can change man. As an apparatus that must be repaired by whoever made it and in the same way, only who created humanity has the power to transform it.
God has provided for us a model of life through the example of Jesus Christ. With his blood he erases all our past, cleansing all dirt from the old sin. To complete, the Holy Spirit comes to fill and completely renew the life of those who surrender to Jesus, so that it is not a superficial change.
Get rid of everything that is old and bad in your life, renew your soul and heart and review yourself with new life in Christ.
