03: Be faithful in little things - let's learn from the yeast (repost)

in #psychology7 years ago

The beginning of all things often spring forth to be young, easy, simple, narrow, little, small and in bits. In some situation the reverse is the case, it is the complete opposite of the first, some beginning or startup are inclined to be hard, cumbersome, stressful, rigid, demanding and broad.

Today my pen craved to write about little things or humble beginning; this is a topic that holds diverse contributions, ideas and views from different Individuals all over the world. I won't visit the internet to help me season my post with borrowed thoughts, I will just share my opinion as it is in my heart.
It is not a new topic, it's been on trending for as long as I can remember. I will apply my thoughts to the business line alone.

Today I was propelled to add my own quota or thoughts on the topic "little things or humble beginnings". Back then, when I still lived with my deceased grandma, I do see my uncle week in week out, my uncle made it mandatory to check up on his mum/my grandma. During his visitation we do dialogue for like twenty to maybe thirty minutes. My uncle usually utters two or three advice into my ears before he leaves. There was a particularly week my uncle visited, he uttered the best advice of all time, he said to me:

“Take care of little things and big things will take care of themselves.”

It was the third time my life sat at the high table of undiluted wisdom with my heart, mind, body, soul and spirit. I kept his advice close to my heart. They have helped me immensely.

This words in quote has diverse meaning to any area of thoughts but I will apply it to my writing. We should never look down on little things, we should never scoff at humble beginnings. I have heard different people saying “If you are stingy when you are poor, you will be stingy when you are rich” and “if you can't manage little things you won't be able to manage big things when opportunities presents itself.” -- I can't agree less, for the saying is true.

Let's learn from the yeast.

Yeast are known to leaven dough into cool shapes.

We all know that for a dough to rise especially bread, yeast is a fundamental Ingredient in the baker's hand. Our attitudes, passion, habits, commitment, hardwork, capacity, behaviour, efforts, faithfulness, diligence, integrity towards little things or humble beginnings are like yeast. At first the dough is not edible in it's early stages (startup looks small and unyielding in rewards) but as time proceeds once we add yeast, it makes the whole baking process worthwhile then the end product of that dough will be a bread leaven in good shape and edible for consumption.

I have never seen a well shaped dough without the Ingredient of a yeast. This means, the outcome of your efforts in little things is fundamental and can produce a good or a bad shape.

The art of paying rabid attention to little things is very essential, especially to people in the work place; most companies follow the business model of hierarchy, I have read life changing stories of rich men and women who were faithful in little things and a panel of ghost observer ticked them worthy to acclaim staggering position that change their lives forever.

The meat of my thoughts goes thus; If we take care of little things (meagre dough) with the yeast of our heart, when bigger things (big dough) present itself we will be an outstanding baker in that walk of life. Given all ingredients are present in the little things, miss this ingredient called yeast, it may make the baker look unskilled.

I hope this makes sense to anyone reading now, we just need to apply the yeast in us, other ingredients are already present in the little things or humble beginning. Leaven that startup into good shape. The shape is what matters in some cases not the taste.
