the long post of our house:)
When we got the key of our new home we first prepared the 'campsite' the place we would be for several weeks from now to renovate the house :) This post shows in chronological order the (parts of) renovation :)
My sons helped us out bringing the stuff inside.
We had to remove the old natural stone floor, so we needed some heavy equipment.
My father in law started demolishing the floor, it was a lot of noise.
In the old floor there was electrical heating, after demolishing it looked something like this :)
in the garden we removed some borders because we wanted to have a bigger gardenhouse so we can site in the spring enjoying our garden.
The old kitchen had to be removed too, it wasn't our taste and it was a bot outdated.
This is how the floor looked after removal of the tiles..
Next it was the toilet we had to remove :) besides the fact I don't like the fact using a toilet that has been used for years by a different family, it was outdated too..
We had to call for some containers to get rid of all the debris.
We had a lot of help, this is my wife's uncle helping removing the kitchen.
A truck getting the first container :)
Now it was time for the bathroom...
we removed the bath, there won't be a new bath in our new bathroom..
There was a lot of unused space. We are getting dormers in July, then we get some more space in our new bathroom...
At work things brake every now and then :)
They call me, "Bob the Builder" :P
To be able to put heating into the floor the floor has to be leveled, Ronnie (one of my best friends) leveled the floor for the guy that puts in the floor heating..
A lot of wood came from the garden... The tree in the middle isn't there anymore either...
The machinery for milling the floor heating
They hit one of the electrical cables , lucky us it was onlyfor the lamp outside :)
They created a great maze for the heat pipes...
Afterwards the pipes where put in.... cool isn't it :)
Unlucky for us they also hit a water pipe.....but our plumber fixed it quick...
The rebuilding of the bathroom started... by putting a drain into the floor of the shower...
Ronni again leveled the floor after the heat pipes where put in... So he could prepare it for our new floor..
On a saturday three glaziers came to replace all our windows. this was necessary for our new heatpump.
The plumber forgot to tell us that the sour wasn't connected yet.... so it was a bit messy...
The plasterers prepared the walls for plastering...
We decided to replace all the outlets
Me and my son replaced a roof window together... a real "father son" job :)
meanwhile our washingmachine broke down....we had to buy a new one :(
Ronnie started with the floor...
We replaced all the doors in the house. The old ones where damaged to much to get them in a good condition..
In the meanwhile the wood for our garden house was comming in, I couldn't wait for us to start building it....
While we were getting the wood in place, the painters started painting in the house.
The bathroom specialist started tiling the bathroom for a part. We have to wait intill the dormers are placed to finish it :(
I started assembly the new garden chairs.. :)
Finally the new kitchen arrived.. something we have waited for a long time now :)
And again.....some new wood....
The construction of our garden house started...First the poles had to be placed. They were placed in concrete so they are steady build..
The tiler of our bathroom put some great tiles on the wall :)
I assembled our new BBQ together with my sons... I love this machine :) Will bring us some quality food and time in our new garden...
I layed some bricks myself, quite difficult I must confess...
The kitchenguy started assembling the kitchen..
In the meanwhile building our gardenhouse continues..
Putting concrete into the floor of the gardenhouse..
The installtion company came to install the heatpump...
The solar pannels will be installed after the dormers are placed..
This is the unit outside of the house. It works a bit like a airco but reversed. The unit takes the heat out of the air.
And again....continuing the garden house...
The old Central heating was obsolete. My brother took it (it was from 2015 so still new)...
Our new garden chairs and table in full glory :)
After some heavy rain we got some leakage in the garage. We registred it to the old owners... Because it is something like a 'hidden feature' haha
The floor on the first floor is finally finished :)
All the doors where firemen-red. So we had it changed to this colour... suited us better..
The rooftiles for the gardenhouse...
We had the fireplace cleaned by a company so we are sure it is safe to burn some wood in colder days..
The old fusebox wasn't very good anymore...So we had to replace it..
Moving day, our old home....empty....
And.....again.......continuing the gardenhouse hahaha
The new bed for our soon to come puppy "Bassie"
Carrying garden tiles , I gained some muscles this move it think :)
This is how it looks like, we still have to do the little things like cables, outlets etc... But you get an impression :)
Our rabbit is relaxing and likes the grass in his little home...
I received a beer tap for in my gardenhouse (for show, not to use) from the carpenter who build our gardenhouse..isn't that cool...
Isn't it a awesome gardenhouse?
So...this was a big post of pictures of a chronological order of our devleopment in our new house, I hope you liked it....
Have a great night !!
Peter
It's almost like you built a new house! I love the kitchen and the bathroom tile. The garden house is marvelous! It is a dream house.
Thank you very much....it is indeed a dreamhouse..we are going to make great memories here !!
That was a massive undertaking and the results are fabulous. Would be cool to get a valuation and see how much value you added. You totally modernized it and made it your house which is a good way to start.
Thank you @cryptoandcoffee :) We will valueate it again, we have to for insurance purposes :) I think we did add some value , emotional value for sure lol..
Wow, that is pretty impressive. It looks like you are going to have an awesome home when everything is finished up!

What a great renovation project! I love that you did so many things yourself. It emphasizes the feeling that the house is YOURS. How long did it take you to renovate? Just wonder as you've done quite a lot of work.
I like how the living room turned out. The floor is very nice, I would probably use wood too. The kitchen is cool as well..
Congratulations on finishing your project! It must be an amazing feeling now :)
Glad that curie picked your post :) Have a lovely weekend!

Bij nader inzien was dat misschien wel handiger geweest hahaha... maar lijkt me erg leuk de meetup in Vorden te houden
Best feeling in the world, that must be, to have a place you can call your own, especially after you've shaped it your way.
Congrats on that achievement and a successful renovation.
May you and your kids live many happy years in that house
@hlezama , thank you very much for your kind words ..
