Hay una zona en Tenerife, poco conocida por el turismo, que a mi me fascina. Si algún día me pierdo, buscadme aquí. Es la costa donde está el faro de Punta del Hidalgo.

Aquí vienen sólo algunos vecinos locales y unos pocos turistas aleccionados.

El otro día se dieron unas cuántas combinaciones necesarias para producir olas grandes con largas crestas.

Para que aparezcan estas olas, es preciso que haya una importante oleaje, que la marea esté alta, que sople brisa de tierra hacia mar, que las olas sean ordenadas y no irregulares, etc... Si se dan todas estas circunstancias a la vez, entonces se forman olas que, al acercarse a tierra y al levantarse, van dejando una estela de pequeñas gotas.

He intentado muchas veces hacer fotografías de estas “olas con cola”, pero nunca he tenido tanta fortuna como el otro día. Creo que obtuve las mejores fotos de ellas que he hecho hasta ahora.

Además, en un momento dado, una gaviota que estaba cercana comenzó a volar y disparé sobre ella una ráfaga de fotografías. He seleccionado algunas de ellas que a mí me gustan.

No son frecuentes las gaviotas en esta litoral,
desconozco el motivo.

Las olas cuando se levantan, al ser tres pasadas por la luz, tienen un color verde esmeralda que me resulta precioso.

Cuando el mar está más tranquilo, aquí vienen algunos surfistas, pero el otro día no era el caso, pues meterse al agua con esta marejada puede ser bastante peligroso.

Sinceramente, me ha costado un gran esfuerzo hacer una selección del montón de fotografías que tomé. Creo que será necesario hacer varias exposiciones de ellas. Espero que os guste esta primera entrega.

Waves and seagulls

There is an area in Tenerife, little known for tourism, which fascinates me. If I ever get lost, look for me here. It is the coast where the Punta del Hidalgo lighthouse is located.

Here come only some local neighbors and a few educated tourists.

The other day there were a few combinations needed to produce large waves with long ridges.

For these waves to appear, it is necessary that there is an important swell, that the tide is high, that breeze blows from land to sea, that the waves are orderly and not irregular, etc ... If all these circumstances occur at the same time , then waves are formed that, when approaching land and rising, leave a trail of small drops.

I have tried many times to take pictures of these "waves with a tail", but I have never had as much luck as the other day. I think I got the best pictures of them that I've done so far.

In addition, at some point, a seagull that was nearby began to fly and I shot over it a flurry of photographs. I have selected some of them that I like.

Seagulls are not frequent on this coast, I do not know why.

The waves when they rise, being three passed by the light, have an emerald green color that I find precious.

When the sea is calmer, here come some surfers, but the other day was not the case, because getting into the water with this swell can be quite dangerous.

Honestly, it took me a lot of effort to make a selection from the pile of photographs I took. I think it will be necessary to make several expositions of them. I hope you like this first installment.
