Orión es un mastín. Probablemente, no sea un pura raza de mastín español porque no tiene un cuello muy grande con una gran papada.
Orión es un espíritu libre; le gusta escaparse y deambular por ahí. En algunas ocasiones, cuando se da cuenta que nos vamos a caminar, salta la valla y se viene con nosotros de paseo. Así, fue el otro día que nos dimos una caminata y le saqué estas fotos.
Los mastines españoles son perros muy grandes que se han usado habitualmente en la ganadería, para proteger de los ataques de los lobos.
Actualmente se está recobrando su población, gracias al apoyo de la Asociación Española del Perro Mastín Español (AEPME), puesto que esta raza estuvo al borde de la extinción. Hubo un tiempo, cuando se dejo de practicar la trashumancia, Que disminuyó mucho el número de estos perros.
Es un perro que necesita espacio y es caro mantener su alimentación puesto que son perros muy grandes que pueden llegar a pesar 90 kilos.
Son perros muy comilones es por lo que dicen que no es conveniente repartirles la comida en tres tomas, para que no se indigesten. Lo mismo es muy recomendable que haga bastante ejercicio. Oriol encanta caminar y darse vueltas por ahí a su aire. Ya en el pueblo lo conocen.
Según he leído, es importante el ejercicio en estos perros porque con frecuencia tienen problemas en la cadera y el movimiento se la previene.
A pesar de ser tan grandes, son perros muy dóciles, muy amantes de sus dueños y se relacionan muy bien con los críos. Pero, a su vez defienden perfectamente su territorio de extraños y peligros. Por eso los han usado mucho los ganaderos. Son perros muy cariñosos que necesitan de mimo y atención. Los veterinarios dicen que pueden enfermar si no tienen este cariño.
Durante nuestra caminata, Orión iba delante trotando de aquí para allá, subiendo y bajando de las peñas y esperándonos en el recorrido. Hice muchas fotos. Entre ellas, me gusta aquella en la que se recorta su sombra sobre el suelo.

During our walk, Orión went ahead trotting from here to there, going up and down the rocks and waiting for us on the way. I made lots of pictures Among them, I like the one in which their shadow is cut out on the ground.

La verdad es que a mi me gustan todos los animales pero el perro es mi preferido, devuelve con creces todo la atención que le brindas, yo digo siempre que son puro amor incondicional, abrazos @volvandemorcilla
