Is steem still worth promoting after the next fork?
Do flagging bots exist
was a dpoll/question @deathcross asked.
To be honest I don't know. I am not into the bot thing. I read, comment and vote. Only 1 person receives an automatically upvote from me and still I read the posts written (one every two weeks).
Although @fitinfun writes great posts for minnows and plankton I do not use everything.
What benefits one does not need to benefit an other (at the moment) plus of it comes to steem I am I stick to what works fine .
Ginabot is a good example.
I am not that interested to find out who unfollows me and why. I know all my followers do not visit me daily. It is an impossible task and neither I can do visit all of them.
I answer who commented and visit and comment back.
I read what is new, use Appics and comment there as well, do the same via palnet, dpoll etc.
This way I meet more Steemians and read different posts.
I try to join the contests I remember and the comment is a new remind-me.
24 hours sounds long.
Still, I run out of time. I am busy to connect and no longer busy with doing what I like most.
I spent over 12 hours on Steem and this is an aweful lot of time, especially with a slow connection like mine.
Does it pay back?
At times it does. For example as I made the @freewritehouse advertisement and @felt.buzz delegated 500 SP to me for a month. I see it as a chance to pay back all those who helped and still help me. Help to survive here, help with tips, advice me, show something new, but I also see it as a chance to help others with a little push of my side.
I know the SP is temporary but it might be good. After that time I can consider what to do next.
The HF21 is a fact.
I have doubts if this will make it easier for people to join the platform.
If I should still promote it as the platform to be.
@deathcross mentioned a flagged-war by bots and it doesn't feel good to me.
At times I see cheetah (?) say the author is a scam and if cheetah is mistaken he/she should contact via Discord. To be honest I find this the other way round. If you acuse someone you are the one who has to come with prove. So if you comment this way (bot or not) write: text is from (link) or picture is seen here ...
That cannot be so hard and still you don't know if it is true. Nowadays people join many platforms and they do not always use the same name.
I wonder what will be left of this platform, so many of us promote, as being a close and helpful family (#seven77 on Twitter).
If I understand it well HF20 was to fight scam, HF21 is to do the same, pushing people into flagging more and reward whales more as others (just read in @fitinfun her minnow tips whales hardly write? I just checked out some whales and higher on the ladder as I Steemians but I cannot say it's a rule.)
Might be I am flagged now for saying what I think, am worried about.
I have no respect for the ones who do so without giving a reason. It is the least you can do hidden behind your device or bot. I also wonder if once flagged will be undone and if so how it will influence the author. Somehow flagging feels sneaky to me, like gossiping.

12 tags 😱, I fear fear.
I really don't think something bad will happen in this new fork, but is good to brace yourself for impact.

You fear for what? The tags? If you use partiko you can do it too.
We see what will happen.

Something bad will not happen? It is easy to read what they plan, so this comment goes to prove that most people do not read anything that is outside a narrow band of interest. I mean, everytime you make a post, you are taken to a new posts feed, where the posts from those running steemit are posted on the right side of the page.
My main complaint is that the decisions are being made by those with big accounts, who see everyone here as a waste of steem resources - they say so, in a round-about way.
They put forward the argument that authors (authors are those who make posts, even if it is photographs or paintings) are not contributors of any value to the platform, as it is the curators who give value. At most, they are willing to cede that maybe a few posters who post about crypto and blockchain, are of some value.
One of them even said, even should the most talented author or writer of novels, write a masterpiece, if they are paid more than x steem (I cannot recall exact amount, but it was under 50 steem), they would flag them to reduce their earnings drastically, whereas, if someone makes a post on crypto, he would not mind seeing them earn 400 steem.
None of this sounds biased does it? Of course, they realised what they sounded like, so they now promote the idea that we should each be allowed some free downvotes so as to stop scam posts etc, which are killing steemit, (and then they back some really evil dwarfs with huge delegations (one I saw was given 25,000) so that they can flag with impunity - especially anyone who is a patriot, questions the value of vaccinations, is anti-globalism and so on, or even loves his or her own race (if they are not dark-skinned).
That is not bad? Then how about this?
Because we do not deserve what little we earn, they have altered the 25% to curators, so that they are now going to take 50% of whatever you earn....and already some are preparing for the next HF, by claiming 50/50% is wrong, that the poster should only earn 20 and the curator 80%.
Then it would go back to the pool wich goes to the top 20 witnesses and the roundabout witness.
I don't know how this will go from here but it will be more automation more autovoting etc.
What you could do is remove your votes from the top 20 and give it to the lower ones.
I never vote for anyone with a Rep of over 60 - unless I've been supporting them on their way up and I still like what they post or I admire their talent.
They actually claim this will fight bots by making it more difficult for posters to buy votes from them. If we buy 5 Steem of votes, it is bad, but if they support each other or themselves through their extra accounts, with their rubbish posts (mostly) then that is okay
Well some buy 100 dollars of votes. I don't know how this will go I think more will be done by trails now.
I got cheeta on my own post well it's a copy past thing from YouTube. All most the same so I will make my daily story a bit bigger for those videos.
I am mostly in favour of the proposed changes in EIP. However, I think it will still need tweaking after it has been trialled for a while.
Separating upvoting and downvoting mana pools will most likely be necessary. Bots haven't downvoted before because it cost them vote selling revenue. Soon they will be able to and 2.5 times a day. We may even see bid bots selling downvotes as well. I doubt there would be many buyers but it is a possibility.
All we can do is wait and see how these changes pan out .

I assume we have to like it or leave. Somehow it sounds to me as if the freedom the platform Ines was promoted with is come. More and more rules. In a few years it will be fb2
