How free is free when you are forced to use Google Chrome? Forced, absolutely—in a sense, I am, just like millions of others. The government and the bank alone already compel you to use this browser, which knows everything about you and feeds you precisely what you want to "hear".
I am not a Google fan, and therefore not a Google Chrome enthusiast either. This browser is not meant for people with older devices, slower internet connections, or when you have a memory deficiency (not me, but the devices I use).
So there you are, trying to be frugal, not buying new things because what you use works perfectly well, if it weren't for the bleating government and their like forcing you to sideline anything that doesn't fit their agenda (control, control, control, it's all about control!) and replace it with something new. That new thing is polluting, simply because it was produced unnecessarily, and it's the next disposable item because, of course, there are no proper parts to repair the wretched thing that falls apart from misery the moment the warranty expires.
On the sticker plastered on the food bank window it says: let's be frugal and share everything fairly.
That seems like an excellent idea to me when it comes to governments, manufacturers, and the world's wealthy.
Set a good example, and others will follow, right? And if they don't know how it's done, they're welcome to come live with me for a year and do everything the old-fashioned way.

my bank can use firefox though the belgian IT is in a dire state of 1830 overall
personally i block everything from ads to autoplay to even the side-suggestion bar on youtube, i get like "nothign" when i open up. Certainly dont use edge b/c it forces MSN no matter what, cant even get a blank page but i dont use windows anyway unless i cant avoid it ... that screenshot thing is one thing but it was already over when an ex-employee said they open up to the NSA if they just ask, actually they have a backdoor which is available at any time. A bit like the belgian IRS-(similar) can get all your phone , bank and other records without warrant, more and faster than the police.
Prefer VPN over TOR but tor is fine for browsing although you probably get listed as a potential darkie if you do in '25
I mostly use "waterfox" for about anything, in permanent anonymous mode so it never stores one cookie for more than the session
I wonder: does Belgium already connected all the personal data included school, jobs, bankaccount and so on visible for online shops?
At times it feels as if I am the only idiot fighting cookies still I believe it's worth doing so and the goggle friend doesn't know my likes. LOL.

The irony is really striking. Right now in Nigeria , inflation has skyrocketed to 22% due to the crazy policies from the government. Always telling us to endure and cut down on our spending but those in power keep buying very expensive cars for themselves, buying new private jet , presidential yacht and renovation of assembly quarters.

Yup you are right in the way that all are obsessed with Google or chrome. It's difficult or I can say among the millions people a very little or almost no one is used to with the same old fashion like our mother father. They are indeed the last generation. My own mother used to say why you all time use this. No doubt the the google is the source of study. But it is not always true. The CHATGPT people use to be honest I used it for my assignment and I got mostly wrong.
I was pissed off that day. There are uses and disuse of it. The Steemit is also on Google or chrome. So not always it's a bad source. There are advantages and disadvantages a better line to say.
No doubt u r different. When I asked u for Instagram account that has probably the little child too but u Dont have it. I thought in this era she is not using it!!!
But it's right though. When I had not it I used to play with the things I had in my home. Our bad that we are always stuck to the social media and it's apps.

Actually AI, Chatgpt included, says it makes mistakes and is in a learning process.
An intelligent person would check the answers,ask for facts,sources the answers are based on + year instead doing so whatever the reply is, it is taken for the truth.
AI does make up the answer if info lacks and that info it has access to isn't necessary complete,up to date or the truth. It's a calculation based on.... with an outcome, a guess on old info fed to it. Not the truth.
There's no need to use all those apps. You can use in many cases the browser (Discord, online shopping and so on). Why joining all the social media? What is the point? What is it you like to sell?
If you write some goid poetry you can have a bit room on the wakucat site.
By the way my chikdren, exceot for the eldest due to work, are not active on social media. No X, no instagram, no Whatsapp, no Facebook. So it's not the age we live in but how you are raised, what you want for you, how much you care about your privacy, how much time you like to waste staring at notifications.

Yah you are right. We are raised in that environment where it is used widely. Whenever it's about searching the disease seeing symptoms side effects etc we all use CHATGPT or AI. Sometimes it turns out truth but it misguides us also. So we should prefer to use and read the books and articles related to it. The researches, the writers write the things about facts.
After along time I got to know that we shouldn't be dependent on anything. I shifted my interest to books to reading. Life is changed when we struggle to change ourself. It's not about always saying my fate is like that. What if the pages of fate is that person will get for what he struggle.
So I should advice everyone not to use too much everything. Necessity of everything is bad.!!!
There are only 3 worthy browsers to use.
Everyday secure + private browsing: Brave or hardened Firefox browser
Maximum anonymity / whistleblowing: Tor Browser.
I used Thor for a while but it didn't work well.
Now I use Firfox and addaware ifvI want to watch films.

Not many seem to care about privacy. It's interesting how easily we share everything believing it's safe.
They are careless and then blame others for their mistakes.
I think people choose what to use, although this browser is there, it is us who choose.
People are animals of habits and use what you give them.. Windows because it takes too much time to use Linux.
Google because it's already installed, the "handy" apos checking you out, warning fir danger, covid infected, stolen phone options, war, weather and online shopping included. It takes a day to remove all the shit.
Let's not give the credit of freedom if choice to those who don't think, never informs themselves and go for easy and suffer from FOMO.
How ironic it is when they talk about freedom and even in the software that is used they want to put their claws... Stupidity seems to be a disease.
