ᔕᑕᗷ: Is there Something Happening Steemit?

My answer is no. The fact that something recently became clear to one person doesn't mean something has changed. I can tell since I did my stinking best to motivate people from the moment I joined (account @wakeupkitty) to read, comment, reply and give an upvote.
I wrote about saying "thank you" and giving a vote back just to hear them say: there's no need to since after all Steemit is such a lovely place where you receive high rewards for leaning back or delivering good content(the kind no soul would pay for, posted by people who don't like to read, write, reply, upvote and why should they?).

I tried with True Colours to achieve some changes, to reward the commenters like @pennisf suggested in August 2025. Why? Because it takes a lot of time to type long comments, comments at that time are longer, way better than 80% of the posts. The result today? They left because if there are no replies, they feel tired, it's too time consuming, it's never rewarded and if way lower than a post with the same blah blah blah day in and out and... a nice surprise given to those who are new and the very small group "loyal" ones, while the rest is "lured" in with false promises, like @sbamsoneu explained.

Lured in?

If you ask me no one is. Steemit was and is for a select group the Goose with the Golden Eggs, and even if they are caught for farming, hacking, using AI, taking the Steem and run (or steal from a community) they are welcomed back with a new account and the wallet is filled. If that's what loyalty looks like I am not surprised the biggest part of Steemians only join for the income.
I know many from years ago. I saw people come and go and come and many took as much as they could and are high on the ladder.
Like many, I am very curious to hear what makes them that special, what it is they do to receive all this support, while in the meantime, the small users are asked to burn Steem.

I asked it many times during the past years how Steemit should be promoted on X, what to say, what to tell. Not once I receive an answer. So, what should one tell if introducing Steemit to someone from outside? What to say if AI-generated and shitty posts, newcomers included, are highly rewarded while real creativity is ignored?

Commenting?

It's not something that recently stopped, it has nothing to do with the fact it's Summer in Europe (the forgotten and ignored group, those people who could be the investors if...), no, commenting is not a trend, not a habit. Three times per day is already too much (we noticed that at the SSEA-Project, a project that didn't receive any support from SCs or the Steemit Team but tried very hard to teach the right thing, monitor and reward).

What I do read in this post (see comments) is that there aren't really motivated people left, and those who were are tired after all these years.
I ask you as someone who never comments (except if there's something to gain): What is your excuse?
don't tell me you are busy, so am I (and if you see this as your job, commenting is the least thing you can do).

Me for myself, I never was interested in gaining rewards beyond the fact that they condense some appreciation. Briefly spoken, I write for myself. Some followers seem to read it, as I dare to judge by their votes. And the few comments.
Not the internet and nor steem is in any regard something like a "community". So, any efforts in this direction MUST end in misty fog.
There will rest a very few steemians to whom you are contacted besides steem. E.g. by mail or by personal friendship. That's it. Don't worry, it's not your concern.

Like you I write for me, I've been asked to join since they said the platform needed good writers. Well, we are still after all these years at that point if not worse. The creativity is gone but I am happy with what I write. I like to read myself and I still meet interesting people which I speak (nearly) daily.

Thanks for your reply

( (and if you see this as your job, commenting is the least thing you can do) I see it as a job, I try to work and persevere although the price of Steam does NOT motivate me sometimes, if I do NOTHING I have NOTHING

Is it your second or 3rd job? You have a good attitude. It might not be much but if you do nothing you get zero and you might miss the chance to meet, be noticed and receive more.

I like to work, set goals and achieve them. This life is complicated and if we have money this gives us independence, so I keep working and building a future for myself.

I asked it many times during the past years how Steemit should be promoted on X, what to say, what to tell.

I've been eager to recommend this to my friends on Medium, but after our bad experiences there—paying for membership and feeling mistreated. I want to be able to provide them with peace of mind, and the best way to do that is to successfully cash out a little myself. I also want to be able to support their content with at least the smallest vote to show them it's worth it.

It's a hobby, that's how I see it. A hobby should be fun, you invest time in it, in yourself, in what you like, in making friends. It shouldn't be a stressful experience time after time.
I assume your friends will know where you are and if they like they can join if the time feels right to them. If they comment like you, they will easily make friends and be noticed.

You can set 50/50 of your rewards. If it comes to the steem you receive, you receive the same amount of SP so you grow, your SP does and with that the VP you have to upvote others.
You can also earn by voting and of course, you receive interest over your SP.

I assume your friends will know where you are and if they like they can join if the time feels right to them. If they comment like you, they will easily make friends and be noticed.

My friends are readers and comments because it was what we supposed to do to support each other.

Yes, I've set it to 50/50 and I would keep powering up.

It's the best way of support on long term. The 50/50 is already 50% of your rewards. Rewards are paid in steem and SP.. the 50/50 is over the Steem.
