The Diary Game [09/08/2025] Attended my brother’s traditional wedding

Hello @everyone,accept special greetings special greetings from me to you all on this Steemit platform.I have been busy with throughout this week especially with offline commitments.I made a post the previous day concerning my travel to another region in my country .In preparation for my elder brother’s wife .My brother is based in United Kingdom and the wife to be is here in Cameroon.

Today is my brother’s traditional wedding taking place at the wife’s compound.Outfit for the day is traditional wear ,well indicated in the invitation card .Eventhough, due to some reasons my brother is not here but in my tradition someone can represent him . One of my brothers will represent him for the traditional rites to be performed. It is not a complicating issue because the wife is from the same tribe with us .Early inthe morning around 11:00am, we were already at the bride compound .

For the traditional rites to commence .People travel from distance place friends, relatives , family members to witness my brothers traditional rites.At mid day the traditional rites commence .We had some traditional things to provide from the grooms family .We were aware and we came prepared with all that was requested during knock door .redoil, palm wine,rapper ,colanuts ,salt ,money etc.Everything was provided and the bride family had to ensure everything was okay as it was demanded.

Later, when traditional rites was finished .The big man of the compound had to go straight with modalities and rites to crowned the traditional marriage rite done . The bride was called and asked questions if she has think well with all her heart and mind to married and she accepted .

The Big man of the compound proceeded by giving the bride palm wine to give to the husband to drink. Meaning she has accepted to married my brother .She happily took the wine and gave to my brother to drink .From here according to the Nso tradition both are officially tide nots as husband and wife .

Everyone was so happy and had to claphands rejoiced the marriage is cealed .My brother was following everything through zoom online in UK 🇬🇧 what was passing . After, the big man of my brothers wife compound came out of the compound and did incarnation traditionally .Saying one any any body with bad intentions for the couples shall never succeed.That their marriage is cealed already and no body can separate .

After, the bride was taken out of the house to present with the population outside that she officially married traditionally.At this point us from the grooms welcome our bride with joy and happiness .Meaning the two families has become one as the bride was taken outside .

From the compound official traditional marriage celebration ceremony and reception was taking place .In one of the hotel in the locality starting at 5:00pm.But notwithstanding people were still entertained with foods and drinks in the bride compound .At the bride compound ,I dished fried rice for one of my sister and I to eat together .

We took some snapshots with the bride before heading to the reception hall.The reception hall was not far from the bride place .While in the hall I assisted those in charge of the decor and ensured everything is set in the hall perfectly for invitees .

Foods and drinks committees were already in the hall setting thing perfectly. At 5:30pm the reception ceremony for the traditional wedding started . It was more of a party night celebration.The program started with entrance from the bridesmaids and the brides.A talk from the both parents groom and bride. A word from the bride . After, was Ushering people to table to eat when it is still early .

There was enough varieties of drinks and foods to eat . Anybody was allowed to served what so ever foods you want to eat . We all in my own table with sisters went and dished our food . I most say the person we contracted for the foods chewables and drinks did a great job .

After, eating we had various dance presentations. We already notified no gift meaning the wedded couples are not receiving gifts from invites . We had a guest artist Paker very popular musician in Cameroon .We paid him to perform and he came in and did a very great presentation.

The grooms friends came in with a dance group .My brothers wedding was very nice and I enjoyed abit of everything.The organisation was topnotch . While the party was going on I remembered I haven’t taken a picture with the bride in the hall .We had to take some snapshots to make the day memorable.

The night was all about drinking and dancing .Everyone was there to make sure the party is giving .At one point I was tired and.After, dancing and dancing ,I left around 12:00pm to my hotel room in the same building and slept .My brother’s traditional wedding was a great one as everything went on smoothly and perfect as planned .
