Monday Diary and Short Chamber Stories

Hi there. How are you? I hope you are doing great. Welcome to my Post. It's the alive and thriving report on Monday, Aug 04, 2025.

The drama of the insurance company continues! On Monday, one patient came with a sudden onset of numbness in all four limbs of his body. He was pretty worried. I checked his vitals and found his blood pressure is low. I advised some tests, suggested IV fluids, and injections. Everything needed pre-approval. The insurance coordinator of our clinic applied for the approval. It was time to wait! It was almost one hour before we came to know that only tests had been approved, and they rejected the fluid and injection. We again resubmitted. The patient couldn't wait any longer because he needed to join his work! Hence, he left for work, and after getting approval, we would call him to come for the management. The approval for the injection, fluid, and oral tablets came way later, and the patient didn't come that day. He came the next morning. But, there was still a catch! The insurance company approved IV fluids and injections, but not for the IV cannula and tegaderm (to fix the cannula after insertion)! What kind of stupidity is it!!! Despite having insurance, the patient needed to pay 3 OMR to receive the fluid and injection!

Another patient came with a big cut injury to his right thumb. A flap of skin was almost detached, hanging with a narrow strip of skin. I put the skin in its place and fixed it with 10 stitches! I hope that the skin remains viable and fuses with the underlying structure.

On Monday, I consulted 20 patients in my chamber. There was no emergency case except for the cut injury case mentioned above. In the visa medical section, I examined some people who came for a fitness test. Overall, it wasn't a busy day. I had time to do a bit of study and work online as well!

There was a storm, followed by a heavy rainfall for a short period on Monday afternoon. It brought the temperature down a bit. As we don't get rain regularly, the temperature will go up pretty fast!

I could walk on the treadmill for 15 minutes after lunch. It helped me reach over 11k steps. These steps also earned me 0.57 $SWEAT!

Okay. That's all for today. Alhamdulillah, I am alive, healthy, and thriving. How about you?
