Hello everyone 😻,
Happy hump 🐪 day and a very warm welcome to my report. We are bang in the middle of the week, mid of September and I have had a great day💯.
It's that time to fill you in on how it all went including the trending stories. You definitely know the drill, here we go again💨.
So as usual I began my day with a quick walk around the neighborhood. I was actually headed to the grocery but extended my walk for a while😹. It had rained last night so the ground was still wet.
During the day , I stopped by the city centre for an errand then was back indoors watching some YouTube and following up on the trending stories.
My last walk was the slow paced sunset 🌄 walk. Quite a cloudy ☁️ day this evening as I made my way around the neighborhood ending up at the park 🌲 before heading back home🏡.
We had a bit of drizzling with more rain forecast for tomorrow
With that out of the way, let's get into the trending stories.
Starting off in Gaza, the genocide/ mass murder kept going with 80 Palestinians killed in relentless Israeli bombing centred around densely populated Gaza city😿. Today they targeted Palestinians sheltering outside two hospitals.
The plan to seize the city and displace up to one million people is still on🙀.
Not far off, the Emir of Qatar visited Jordan and held talks with Jordanian king Abdullah. This after the emergency summit in Doha discussing the way forward for Gaza after Israel attacked Hamas negotiators in Doha.
There is still no clear peace agenda, today one of the Hamas leaders who dodged the Israeli attack spoke of his and other leaders narrow escape.
I didn't hear anything about the Ukraine/ Russia drama.
What was trending in Europe is the really warm welcome Trump received at the Windsor castle, well shielded from the protests going on outside.
King Charles and crew pulled all stops to make sure Trump was well pampered😹.
He inspected a guard of honor, rode in the horse n carriage and was later treated to a lavish state banquet.
The banquet table took three days to set, everything in place fit for royalty.
Some naughty/ cheeky men projected a huge image of Trump and sex offender Jeffrey Epstein on one of the bigger walls of Windsor castle😹. Of course it was quickly shut off and there were arrests made.
In central London, there were anti Trump protests outside houses of parliament. Many people saying they disliked his divisive politics that had emboldened the far right.
London Mayor, Sir Sadiq Khan, also took a swipe at Trump, blaming him for fanning the flames of right wing politics in the UK.
Trump is still around and will be going on to meet the PM Keir Starmer tomorrow. One wonders if they will discuss the things Netanyahu is doing in the Middle East, things could get sticky😹.
Across the pond in the US, New York trending as demonstrators targeted two businesses for supplying military equipment to Israel. They blocked the entrances as they wished to be addressed by the management.
8 people arrested in the back and forth that ensued between them and police.
Finally, after months of talking and pressure from Trump, the Fed have decided to reduce interest rates by 0.25% percent. This is the first time Jerome Powell has cut rates since December last year.
But their word of caution was that the job market isn't looking good.
