My Actifit Activity Log [10.20.2018] #AutomaticWin
Nearly there aren’t we! I worked late getting things ship shape for the #AutomaticWin Step Challenge last night leaving me with 4 hours and 9 min. to sleep. 😴 And boy of boy did I ever sleep! 😆
Rising early I suited up into my fitness gear and gathered my GoPro’s and necessary camera equipment.
I had decided that I was going to film my #AutomaticWin this morning! That meant walking the trail in the dark before sunrise to scout out my intended route and make sure I would get enough steps in because once I started to film I would have plenty to keep myself busy without worrying about actually getting my 10,000 steps in before 10am! By the time I got back the sun was just beginning to rise in the east.
Proceeding along my intended path, the one I have been describing over the last week, I walked the trail to the river for the second time that morning! (Check back for the video as I will be editing it tomorrow! 😁)
Felt pretty good on my way there and by the time I was heading back there was actually quite a few joggers and walkers on the path as it was Saturday morning. This is what people would be doing if it wasn’t for all the debt and obligation in the world.
That got me thinking about what I wanted to write about in this post...
And I decided that we need to talk about catching our breath. And I don’t mean this in the way that most do. Stopping everything and doing nothing more than putting a dent in the couch. 🛋
I’m talking about the importance of mindful breathing. With the pace of life these days people don’t take the time to breath it seems. They go rushing through their lives without thinking about their wellbeing and their bodies, minds, and spirits pay the price... because the piper always needs to be paid. 💰
So many people think that the formula for their success is all about sacrificing, scarcity, and suffering. They consistently sacrifice their health to gain wealth and then later the equation balances the other way, once it has compounded out of control. They find themselves in a position where they are giving away their wealth in the attempt to regain a portion of their lost health.
Rather than follow this formula for “success” I like to say, “Redefine what it means to win and play the game according to your own rules.”
For me, this is all about taking the time to breath. It’s the first thing I did when I was born... and it will be the last thing I do in my life... life is not so much about the dash in the middle but taking time to be intentional with your health.
When I go for an #AutomaticWin First thing in the morning I am taking the time to breath. It gives me time to think about what’s important. What I want more of and what I want less of in my life!
I know that this step challenge is called a challenge for a reason but honestly guys and girls! I hope that you have been able to soak in a couple sunsets 🌅 along the way and taken a few deep breaths of fresh air too! I hope that you have stopped to listen to the chipmunks chatter, the chick-a-dee’s chirp, and the wood peckers peck! And I hope that breathing heavily up a set of stairs reminds you how beautiful it is to be alive and kicking! 🙂
