Corruption: A Cataclysmic Wave in Africa
Africa throughout the first week of this month is on watching a video coverage of corruption's cataclysmic wave sweeping across our world of football. Emotions have been downplayed, trust has lost its essence and football, a major uniting Factor of Africa has lost its value and the passion to watch. You will wonder and guess how possible this has been sternly allowed to take place. It took just very few people to betray the billions of people who have entrusted their care and emotions to cause this havoc.
It has been all over the news in Africa as BBC and Ghana's award winning investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas and his team of professional investigators,(Tiger Eye PI) telecast a two year intensive investigation on alleged corruption around Ghana Football Association (GFA) and African football at large.
This tantrum was seen and supposed to be a rumour but Africa receive its painstaking news after the telecasting of the video. In Ghana which was the nerve center for the investigation saw the very man behind the progress and the beauty of Ghana and African football boldly engaging one of the investigators, who posed as a investor of a construction project. That is Kwasi Nyantakyi for you. President of Ghana Football Association, Vice President of Consideration of African Football and executive council member of FIFA.
He laid aside his personality in the portfolio's to act on a political grounds lobbying for a contract of which he had no respect and care for the president of Ghana. He lobbied to the point of giving out the exact destination of the President who was an assignment in Qatar without fear of what that information could have served. He disbursed an amount of 12 million dollars which was to be received through the negotiations, as follows 5 million dollars to the President, stating he sold lots of family properties to generate funds to assist him in the election so the amount will be something he will galdly accept. 3 million dollars was to be apportioned to the vice President, 2 million dollars to the transport minister, Kwaku Ofori Asiamah, 1million to his deputy, Anthony Karbo and 1million dollars was to be shared betwenn him and another. He made bold claims like having people in his pocket and how he intends to take ober the nation. The president and his vice denied being aware of such negotiation of receiving a pre-information of the deal.
One Eddie Doku took a bribe of 10,000 Ghana cedis to get Patrick Razak into team B squad selection of the (West African Football Union) WAFU games.
Well check how 15 millions dollars was also to be spent.
