Who do you think should always make the important decisions in the family: mom or dad?
I was raised and educated with the belief that the man is the head of the home, and this is established in the Bible, the book that should guide our behavior.
Now, that being the case, I believe that the man (the father) is the representative figure of the family, and important decisions should be made by him. But not without prior consultation with the mother.
I believe that the mother was created as a suitable helpmate for the name, and since they are one flesh, it is necessary that decisions be made by consensus and that both father and mother agree.
However, the paternal figure will always be representative and even if the decision is consulted, it will always be the father who expresses and executes it.
¿What is your reason for choosing any of them?
As I pointed out earlier, the father figure is the representative of the family and consequently he should be the one who executes the important decisions even when they are the result of a consensus between the father and the mother.
¿Do you think important decisions should be left to one person?
Because decisions are so important, they shouldn't be left in the hands of just one person. If the father considers the mother to be a suitable helper, it's because he should naturally consult her on every matter, which they must decide by consensus. Always keep in mind that the father is the representative and will be responsible for executing or enforcing the decision.
¿What is your advice for families going through this phase of deciding who should make important decisions?
The most important thing when making decisions in a family is to clearly recognize and define the roles of each member. In the case of parents, it is essential that when making decisions, the discussion is presented together and considered by both parties. The arguments of each member are listened to, prioritizing the family's well-being over personal interests.
And when making the decision, consider which one best suits the common good. It's also important to recognize the father as a representative figure, and consequently, it will be the father who executes the decisions made.
