"Again&Again" sista

Hello steemit family sharing the movie I can comfortably rewatch and learn from it

There are some movies you enjoy once and move on from, and then there are those that stay with you no matter how many times you see them. For me, Sista falls into that second group. It is not just a movie; it is a mirror that reflects real struggles many women face, especially single mothers. Written and directed by Biodun Stephen, and starring Kehinde Bankole, Adedamola Adewale, and Bisola Aiyeola, this film tells a story that is emotional, relatable, and unforgettable.

The first thing that strikes me about Sista is how real the story feels. It follows the life of Victoria, a woman left to raise her children alone after the father of the kids walked away. When she literally saw him through school and he left for service and disappeared leaving only a letter She works hard, does cleaning in homes and offices sacrifices her own comfort, and does everything possible to make sure her children do not lack love or guidance. Kehinde Bankole plays this role with so much emotion that you almost forget you are watching a movie. You feel her pain, her joy, and even her moments of doubt.

But just when you think she has found her rhythm in life, the children’s father suddenly comes back. After she lied to her children that he had died so they won't feel abandoned For most people, you would expect this to be a happy reunion a family coming together again. But Sista doesn’t give us that fairy tale. Instead, his return brings confusion. He comes with charm and boldness, and the children, who had longed to know their father, quickly start giving him all the attention. Which to sista felt betrayed For Victoria, this is like a fresh wound. After all her years of struggle, how could he just step back in and steal the hearts of the very children she had been suffering to raise? He opted to change their school phones and have them flashy things

This is where the movie becomes very emotional for me. It is not only about parenting but also about the way life can be unfair. Many single mothers will see themselves in Victoria’s shoes doing all the hard work only for someone else to come in and claim the glory. The movie does not excuse how lonely, tiring, and thankless single parenting is . Yet it shows the strength of a mother’s love that never gives up.

What makes me watch this movie again and again is not just the story, but how it is narrated. Biodun Stephen did not set in unnecessary drama or over-the-top scenes. She allowed the story to flow naturally, using simple and relatable moments to carry deep meaning. looks, quiet scene at home, or even the way the children react tells you more than a long speech ever could. Sometimes I even find myself replaying certain scenes just to catch those silent emotions again

The movie also sends a powerful message about forgiveness and second chances. The father is not seen as completely evil, but neither is he excused for abandoning his family. The children’s love for him despite the hard times shows that even people who hurt us deeply can still hold a place in our lives. Also his new wife Bisola forgave him while blaming herself for causing his family abandonment because she approached him first but with that he still stands by him to make peace with his first family The movie doesn’t force an easy solution; instead, it allows us to sit with the tension should Victoria forgive him fully? Should the children embrace him without questions? What happens to all the years he was absent? Those unanswered questions make the film so real, because in life, things are not always tied up neatly.

Another reason I love Sista is the supporting cast. Characters like Bisola Aiyeola and others bring warmth and balance to the story. They represent the community and voice around Victoria friends, neighbors, and people who try in their own ways to support her. Their presence reminds us that even when life feels heavy, there are always people around who help carry a little bit of the load.

Yes, some viewers have said the movie could have done better technically, maybe with sharper editing or more polished visuals. I won’t argue with that. But to me, that simplicity is part of its charm. It doesn’t impress with fancy effects. But focuses on the heart of the matter a woman, her children, and the struggles of survival and love.

Every time I rewatch Sista, I take out something new. Maybe it is a small line I didn’t notice before, or the way a child looks at their mother, or even the silence between two characters. That’s the beauty of the film it grows on you. It is not a story you forget once you see it. It lingers, making you think about motherhood, sacrifice, abandonment, and the courage it takes to keep going no matter what.

To me, Sista is more than entertainment. It is a lesson, a reminder, and sometimes even a source of comfort. It tells single mothers, “We see you. We see your hard work, your tears, and your strength.” And it tells the rest of us to appreciate and respect the silent battles that many women fight every day.

So when I think about movies I can watch again and again, Sista will always make my list. It is Nigerian cinema at its best grounded in reality, full of emotion, and relatable to anyone who has known struggle, sacrifice, or love. If you haven’t watched it, you should. And if you have, don’t be surprised if you find yourself going back to it, just like me.

If you watch Nollywood I would recommend sista
