Isn’t not using SteemConnect a huge security flaw? Joe Blow could pretend to be me or anyone else. Steem blockchain user names are generally not tied to email accounts. AFAIK, all other DApps use SteemConnect for security. Why not AirClinic?
When it comes to healthcare, everyone is touchy and sensitive about their data and security. That's why we must give each user a private secure account with a database separate from the blockchain.
In as much as the rewards are based on steem, you would not want us broadcasting your private messages to the blockchain would you?
We have Steemconnect for login to the app but registration must be done by all to enable us separate Blockchain-based and non-blockchain based operations.

Um, okay, but other DApps use Steemit’s encrypted private messaging just fine. Those are “broadcast on the blockchain” but encrypted. Nobody but the recipient can read them as plaintext. Still don’t see how your system would prevent A from pretending to be B, signing up with a throwaway email account.
