This is great news and sticks with my belief that we will be laughing in 10 years about this "healthcare" debate. Amazon entering the fray to disrupt things is exactly what is needed in this sector. The medical industry is filled with layers of monopolistic, slow moving organizations. Over the past 20 years, mergers and acquisitions means there are a few primary players in each segment, controlling a vast amount of the resources. The insurance companies/government are on the hook for the payments, which never go down. Technological adoption, thus far, has been slow.

Now it is time for technology and the laws of IT to get into the medical world and blast things apart. Amazon is just one of the entrants. Apple, Samsung, and Google are also moving into that realm with AI, software, and personal medical devices.

While Amazon is working to become a monopoly, for the time being, let them go. They are a disruptive force which is sorely needed at this time. They are at the stage of lowering the cost of things. The government can step in later to break them up if needed. For now, let them shake the establishment up.
