Urban Garden Mini-Update: Everything is in FULL Swing | May 17, 2025
It has been a couple of weeks (16 days) since my last urban garden update, so I figured there was no better time than the present. I've kept the post down to just a few photos today, even though I had tons that I took. As the season progresses, I'll share more of all the plants, including each of the different varieties of chili peppers I'm growing this year.
I'll start with the potatoes first...the potatoes I'm growing this year are Red Pontiacs based on how well they are allegedly suited for my region. As you can see, the several days of rain have really helped these along.
Just random on which peppers I'm showing...all of these lil' babies grew leaps and bounds the last few days. In the first post I made about the garden this year, I went more into all the peppers I'm growing. If you're interested, refer back to that post, which can be found here.
Lastly, today...the Roma Tomatoes that are just starting to stretch out a bit.
As you can see, the growing season is in full swing. While the garden is drastically smaller this year, that doesn't mean I still won't have produce coming in the door! Stay tuned for more. As the weeks progress, I'll probably showcase these bad lil' ladies more frequently.
Thanks for reading!
T'was the leaf that drew my attention, because i have never seen potatoes with this kinda leaf, yeah, seeing the name as red potatoe is an education on my end, your garden is doing well and it seems where you plant it doesn't have a soil for planting or are they in their nursery stage to be planted in a container?
Yes, the red potatoes have a bit more flavor (and a bit smaller). These are all in growing bags/containers. The potatoes are in a 10-gallon bag made specifically for potatoes, and the peppers are in 15-gallon bags (tomatoes are in 5-gallon bags). Thanks for stopping by!
I knew this farm have had a specific order of planting, i hope it's thriving, i wish you the best here..
All of the plants look very healthy - well done
Never heard of red Pontiac ones, sounds good though... i do love a potato or 9
Yeah, the red potatoes have a bit more flavor, in my opinion, and are a lot smaller.
