Introduction:

For this week drawing challenge on Kodomo Anime I chose to draw one of the most loved characters in the world Pikachu from Pokemon! Pikachu is Very popular among kids and are great example of the Kodomo anime style: bright colors round shapes big eyes and friendly feature.

I used a plain A4 paper HB pencil for sketching and 2B and 4B pencils for outlining and shading.

Materials I Used:

• A4 paper
• HB pencil for sketch
• 2B and 4B pencils for outlines and shading
• Eraser and ruler
• No colors

Step by Step Drawing of Pikachu

Step 1: Draw the Head

First I drew big circle near the top of the Page. This circle is for Pikachu head
I make sure it was round and neat. This will help build the full face later.
Tip: Use a compass or lightly sketch the circle to adjust it if needed.

Step 2: Add Body and Face Guides

Next I drew a smaller circle below the head for the body.
Then inside the head circle I drew one vertical line and one horizontal line (like a cross). These lines helped me know where to place the eyes nose and mouth.
These guideline makes it easier to draw the face corectly.

Step 3 : Draw the Ear

Now I added two long ears on top of the head.
Each ear is like a tall oval pointing slightly outwards.
Pikachu ears are very important because they are long and end in black tips.
Make sure they’re equal size and match the curve of the head.

Step 4: Face and Arms

Here I added the face details:

• Two big round eyes just above the horizontal line
• A small triangle nose in the middle
• A wide smile under the nose
• Two round cheeks on both sides

Then I drew the arms as two small ovals on the sides of the body.
They look like Pikachu is ready to hug you!

Step 5: Legs and Tail

I sketched two small feet at the bottom of the body very simple just short curves.
Then I added Pikachu famous lightning bolt shaped tail.
Start from the lower back and draw a zigzag line going up like a thunderbolt.
This tail is one of the most fun parts to draw

Step 6: Final Outline

Now I used a 2B pencil to go over the clean lines of the drawing.
I carefully trace the head body face and tail.
Then I erased all the extra line (like the face guides and sketch circles) so that only the final shape was left.
This step makes your drawing neat and ready

finall Step : Shading and Finishing

Finally I used 4B pencil to add soft shading:

• Under the arms
• Around the cheeks
• Under the body and near the feet
• Inside the ears and tail

This gives Pikachu a little shadow and makes the drawing look more real and 3D.

Why I Chose Pikachu:

I chose Pikachu because its a fun cute and easy character from the Kodomo anime world. It has big eyes Sweet smile and simple round shape. Pikachu is also know all over the world & many kids love it
This drawing help me learn about proportion facial expresion and how to shade lightly for better effect. It Was a great experience!
