Whenever you kill a monster and get EXP, then if your character gets more stronger everytime she level's up well its justifiable.

If it were a DnD 5e scenario, where alot of passive slow and EXP rich animals are nearby, then expect a massacre from your players.

Also i love the pacifist Gandhi from Sid Miere's Civilization. (NUKES!)
