RE: Emotional Video Game Moments: The Rage of Duck Hunt [Gaming]
I remember some old PC games on the early Windows computers that were pretty aggravating too. There was one I remember I was some weird zany alien on another world, you had to escape from their prison through an isometric level, and there were all these weird robots that would spin around and send becons semi-randomly strafing across the screen along a path. Wish I could remember what it was called. The only other game I can remember playing in that era was called Descent, where you control a spaceship navigating through a mothership. All these games required pinpoint accuracy timing using keyboard strokes, and thousands of failed attempts to get the timing just right before something pops out at you, killing you instantly.
This was back in the days when everyone had to use America Online just to register their copy of Windows. It would be years until we learned Windows had scammed us intentionally from the start.
