RE: ODE TO RUSSIAN LITERATURE. ILUSTRATED BY ME./ОДА РУССКОЙ ЛИТЕРАТУРЕ. ДОСТОЕВСКИЙ vs РАСКОЛЬНИКОВ.
It’s actually ironic that Dostoyevsky is so preoccupied with a murder of a nasty old hag, while the Russian history is full of murders even on the highest governmental level like for example the death of the price Dmitri in Uglich. I think Maluta Scuratov wouldn’t even think twice killing not only a nasty old hag but any young and capable person. So there was a reason why Dostoyevsky chose a complete neurotic for his protagonist. The picture is cute.
Cheers
ALL history is full of murders. Thats the point of the novel :)
