ODE TO RUSSIAN LITERATURE (Pt.2). ILUSTRATED BY ME./ОДА РУССКОЙ ЛИТЕРАТУРЕ (Ч.2). ДОСТОЕВСКИЙ vs ИДИОТ.

Yesterday I promised to make a post about other novel of Great Russian  writer Dostoevsky. Today it will be "The Idiot".
Dostoevsky, was a Russian novelist,short story writer, essayist, journalist and philosopher. Dostoyevsky's literary works explore human psychology in the troubled political, social, and spiritual atmosphere of 19th-century Russia, and engage with a variety of philosophical and religious themes. Вчера я обещал сделать пост по другим романам Великого русского писателя Достоевского. Держу своё слово :) и сегодня речь пойдет о романе "Идиот". Не буду писать здесь о Достоевском, уверен, что вы и так знаете о ком идет речь, но если что мой предыдущий пост ОДА РУССКОЙ ЛИТЕРАТУРЕ, в котором рассказ шел о Достоевском и его романе "Преступление и наказание".

The protagonist of Dostoevsky's novel "The Idiot" is Prince Myshkin. Mishkin, 26-year-old prince, who returned from the sanatorium in Switzerland, where he spent several years being treated for epilepsy. The prince appears sincere and innocent man, though well versed in human relations. He went to Russia to his only remaining relatives.  

The idea of novel "The Idiot" Dostoevsky describes in such words: "For a long time I have been tormented by the thought, but I was afraid to make the novel of her, because the thought too difficult and I was not prepared for it, but the idea is quite tempting, and I love it. The idea of this - portray an entirely beautiful person. It is more difficult than anything, in my opinion, especially in our time”. 

Интересный факт, что сам Достоевский описывает идею романа "Идиот" в таких словах: «Давно уже мучила меня одна мысль, но я боялся из неё сделать роман, потому что мысль слишком трудная и я к ней не приготовлен, хотя мысль вполне соблазнительная и я люблю её. Идея эта — изобразить вполне прекрасного человека. Труднее этого, по-моему, быть ничего не может, в наше время особенно». Не правда ли, созвучно и нашему времени тоже.

The writer was referring to, of course, a man "beautiful" internally, who have perfect spiritual qualities. This "beautiful" character became that very Prince Myshkin, that famous "idiot" (in the opinion of others). In addition, Dostoyevsky admitted that in his novel he expressed only a part of what he wanted to write. But Dostoevsky did not doubt in one - the idea of the novel was wonderful. The name of the novel have the ironic sense. The irony is that this "idiot", how they called Prince Myshkin, is definitely smarter and kinder than all those who are holding him for an idiot and a fool. Prince, trying to help all the people who surrounded him, he is trying to cure them with his soul kindness and incredible discernment. He is an embodiment of goodness and Christian morality. And it is for his unselfishness, kindness and honesty, extraordinary philanthropy in the world of money and hypocrisy environment was called an IDIOT. Novel "The Idiot" is very rich in characters. And almost all the characters, sooner or later called Myshkin an idiot - of course, in the "negative" sense of the word, they see his remarkable qualities as a dementia. In fact, the novel examines the consequences of placing such a unique individual at the centre of the conflicts, desires, passions and egoism of society, both for the man himself and for those with whom he becomes involved.

Все мы помним хотя бы из школьной программы простодушного, наивного князя Мышкина, понимающего, жалеющего всех и вся, обладающего добротой,бескорыстием и невероятной проницательностью. И за его бескорыстие, доброту и честность в мире денег и лицемерия его считали идиотом, расценивая его замечательные качества, как слабоумие.  Не буду долго расписывать, вы и так всё это знаете :)

Interesting fact from life :) I have a friend, he is the owner of HopHead Brewry and he likes my art. Sometimes he asks me to draw lables for the craft beer you can read about this works in my blog here on steemit @nekromarinist . And he also the owner of  HopHead Craft Beer Pub (Moscow). He placed my Dostoyevsky triptych on the wall (inside naturally) of the pub. These prints are very popular among visitors of the pub so, that sometimes they take them home, so to say steal, leaving the bar. This is popularity! I'm kidding of course :) But my friend says that he is, quote, "tired of printing them again and again".

Любопытный факт из жизни :) У меня есть приятель, он владелец крафтовой пивоварни HopHead и ему нравится моё творчество. Когда он варит какое-нибудь новое крафтовое пиво, он просит меня нарисовать для него этикетку, часть этих работ можно увидеть в моём блоге здесь на steemit @nekromarinist   Этот мой приятель так же владелец HopHead Craft Beer Pub в Москве и он решил разместить мои работы по Достоевскому у себя в баре. Эти принты моих работ настолько популярны среди посетителей бара, что периодически они уносят их с собой, а попросту утыривают (извините за жаргон), уходя домой. Вот она цена популярности! Про популярность это конечно шутка :) Но мой приятель говорит, что он, цитирую "задолбался распечатывать их снова и снова".
