The Artists Medicine

For the creative mind, the need to birth new ideas is not an optional path. To artists art is no hobby, it is necessity. I could throw away all my art as soon as it was finished, if I had to, and still I would make more. ✨Without expression I wilt. Days go by fast but dark. If weeks go by, I'm a mess, depression, disassociation,
existential panic attacks.
The void.
But then, if I can just lift a heavy hand, and pen touches paper, or needle to fabric, or chisel to wood, the pain flows out like stagnant blood. I get lost in music and my hands just move in timeless meditation. And when I have purged the ill, and notice a lighter, satisfied feeling, and that three or five hours have passed, all is ok. The medicine administered. Then I can just breathe. ✨💀✨💀✨💀✨💀✨💀✨💀✨💀✨
