A friend recently sent me the following video clip that displays how a Nakaya fountain pen is made:
As you can see, the process of making a Nakaya Urushi fountain pen is messy and expertly performed. The end results are astonishingly beautiful.
While the same is said for Montblanc fountain pens, the clinical sterility of their artisan atelier in Hamburg, Germany, is nearly breathtaking:
