My Second Painting

0.jpg

This is my second painting. It’s an acrylic painting of a scene I saw on the internet.

My painting is self-taught. I have no idea what I did was right or not right. I saw a scene from a photo I like, and I try to paint as closely to it as I can.

This didn’t turn out quite like the picture I had, but never mind. It is a practice piece. I am still learning.

I saw some time-lapse paintings on TikTok. The artists made it seem so simple. In reality, it is not. I guess it’s “if you know how, it is simple,” otherwise it never is.

A very rough outline of the scene.

I started painting – a ‘draft’.

It took me a few sessions to finish the painting.

My first thought was: wow this is so colourful! and as I scrolled down I would have never guessed how you started. I like that you paint in a "sketchbook". A great, creative weekend.

@cryptopie have a look!

It's amazing because it was his second artwork and pulled-off with "flying colors", great job quotes-haven!

Thank you for your kind words. Actually, I did some painting when I was younger. I picked up painting again recently, and this is my second painting from this time.

Your art piece here is truly amazing friend, keep it up. 😀👍💗

I am pleased to know that you like the painting. I am still at the experiemental stage. I will invest in proper painting materials when I decide to continue painting.
Have a great weekend.

I liked it:

The artists made it look so simple.

I think that's what we call the magic of making art.

Friend, for being self-taught, and being your second painter, you do it very well. The landscape conveys meaning. I see your dedication to working the shadows in the mountains, in the swamps, in the flowering plants, and on the road. I see a well-achieved wholeness; it connects me with enjoyment and calm; only an artist with soul can achieve that.

P.S. I'm going to use the anonymous definition of art you leave at the end; thanks for bringing it up. By the way, if you have a link or some source where it appears, I'd appreciate it if you'd share it with me.

Thanks for posting in the community.

@joslud Thank you for your kind and encouraging words. I am pleased to hear that you like my painting.
Just to clarify, this is my second painting this time round. I did some painting 30 years ago. And then the internet came along, and I forgot about painting. I am now trying to pick up painting again.

The quote was taken from this site

Have a great weekend.

Hey, Vincent. You don't need to make it in perfect similarity with the original picture. And I guess this is so good for someone who just learn to paint. Thanks for tagging me.

I never know how to paint. There is a Cuban who also likes to paint, his username is @almaguer. He also happens to be a writer.

Hey @joslud, is this realism or what? Sorry I don't really familiar with painting art terms.

Hi, @aneukpineung78

I wouldn't know how to uniquely identify it in any artistic movement. I can say it's a landscape, where nature abounds, and @quotes-haven masters the technique very well with the brush tip, especially using dark backgrounds and highlighting details with lighter colors and white.
For now, it's an excellent example of landscape painting.

Thank you @aneukpineung for your kind comments.

I have seen some of @almaguer's works. He is very creative.

Have a great weekend.
