Making Red Roses the Audiobook 12

Final flyer for the Atlanta Fringe Festival (Audio) used as cover photo. For those that don’t know, the Atlanta Fringe Festival happens every year downtown Atlanta. Stage acts are selected from across the country. They take their show on the road to Atlanta. And in venues across the city live performances take place. They also feature audio productions on their website. Red Roses got selected to play on their website from May 28th until June 17th.

As an audiobook artist only know of two national festivals that feature spoken word recordings. HEAR Now in Kansas City, and the Fringe Festival in Atlanta. They work together some as well. I’ve now participated in both events.

A little something about this flyer in the cover photo . . .

When originally publishing the Hemp paperback of Red Roses, tried to go through Indie Printing in downtown Los Angeles because I’d already planned the book launch there. The idea, to pick the books up down there, instead of traveling with them. Only it didn’t work out for various reasons and ended up using a local company to print the books.

Fast forward to last week. Our man, James Brodie, of Blue Ivy in New Zealand, step up to the plate and hit a home run on these flyers. Now I had to get them printed. Looked at the cheapest one online first. Then remembered Hemp paper. Got in contact with them and they needed a bigger order to do the run. So went back to Indie Printing in LA and they could do it!

Crunch time, somehow it all worked out and they printed 100 Hemp flyers with this new cover image with the “plastic” effect that will make people want to touch them. Wish I could get my hands on one for sure. However, they’re currently being shipped to Atlanta for distribution across the city. Just one more cool thing about all this I guess.
