📍 CANBERRA – Despite Millennials and Gen Z now being the largest voting bloc in Australia, the Federal Parliament still has a median age of 52, with young MPs few and far between. But that hasn’t stopped rising stars like Senator Fatima Payman, Charlotte Walker, and former MP Wyatt Roy from shaking things up.

🧕 Fatima Payman, elected at 27, often felt out of place but used her youth to ask bold questions and challenge outdated norms.

🧑‍🎓 Charlotte Walker, now the youngest woman ever elected at just 21, follows the path of Senator Sarah Hanson-Young, who herself faced sexism and criticism as a young single mum in Parliament.

🗣️ These stories remind us that young people bring vital new perspectives and energy to politics. Let’s hope more Gen Z and Millennials join their ranks!
